Good points about the celebrities. I agree with you, but how come friggin George Clooney is getting all this political press…somebody must be listening.
I find the whole situation in that country funny since it once created an excess of food and now it’s has to actually import food to feed it’s people.
Serves them and their racist policies right! That’s what you get when you only allow somebody to have because they are of a certain race.
It also is interesting to see another country besides the U.S. which is having disasterous consequences to it’s Great Society race based programs.
I am just surprised that I don’t hear more about this issue on the news or even my kids MTV. They seem to cover Darfur just fine, but this, they leave alone. I guess white people being persecuted just isn’t as intersting news.
Its just like with the Global Warming. None of those people give a shit about GW, they just want to have a ‘feel good’ factor in their empty lives. They mostly sell their souls to get into acting, and most spout shit that no one with any common sense believes.

Mugabe is a run of the mill kleptomaniac demagoguing dictator. The international community has been putting pressure on him for several years, but I think everyone just expects this to resolve itself.
He’s in his mid-80s and succession is somewhat in doubt, not to mention that revolution or more likely a coup may not be too far off. The army remains professional and loyal, especially since its higher-ups live a pampered existence, but with the rate of deterioration of the situation there, even those in a privileged position will be looking to get off the bus.

Are you joking? The entire Democratic party relies on celebrity endorsements. If it weren’t for celebrities, the DNC would have nothing. Celebrities are the new role models, and when they lean a certain political way and use their bully pulpit to spread their agenda, people listen and vote which ever way their favorite TV/movie star says. Currently, it’s very fashionable and trendy to be liberal.

Not really no. But as the general education level rises in some of the more advanced countries (South Africa being the most notable one), we should start seeing some improvement.

Ummm…I happen to be a South African, moved to USA a few years back. Most of my family is back home in South Africa. So yeah, I have a pretty good idea of what is going on. Thanks for asking though.
But it always comes back to apartheid doesn’t it? Every major power has done things just as bad, but we get shat on for what happened in SA consistently.
There is no land grab going on in South Africa.
I think SA is the only country in all of Africa that the State Department won’t warn you against visiting.
