Lately I’ve been having erectile problems. Decided to check my blood pressure and it’s been on average now between 135/85 to 145/85.
It’s been like this for about 8 months now. I need to bring my pressure back down about 20 points.
However, I do not want a blood pressure medication that will cause me many side effects.
Any suggestions of which blood pressure medication I can use that won’t cause unwanted side effects? Thanks
How many hours iof cardio a week do you do with HR of 140-150?
I used to take amlodipine and that didn’t cause any side effects, I also find the supplement L Arginine has been good for helping to lower my BP.
Have you ever tried beets or beet juice?
not medical advice.
research telmisartan, tadalafil, 10 hours per week of cardio
Yep..this before even complain about any health problems.
I’ve been on this since I was 18. No problems with it at all. And sometimes blood pressure problems are just genetic.
I think @mnben87 dealt with some of this stuff before.
No advice from myself, just tagging someone who knows a thing or two =)
Your other thread you made says you’re 21 with low testosterone. You also have high blood pressure. How much do you weigh and what sort of cardio are you doing weekly?
I think @throwawayfitness had a good response. Those are the meds I’ve tried, and cardio is a good idea. I think 10 hours is a bit excessive. Imo, if half that amount doesn’t fix the issue enough, then meds are needed.
I have a feeling that 5 hours of cardio activity a week will solve op issue though.
Since he mentioned ED, I’d try roughly 5 mg of Cialis as the first med. If that isn’t enough, 20 mg of telimasartan would be next on my list. I would go over 40 mg of without a doctor.
Says the lean guy.
I’m not sure what your diet looks like, but in many cases a combination of diet, cardio and lifestyle changes can bring the numbers back in range with no medication required. I’ve worked with quite a few clients that have been able to get off of their meds just by changing their habits/routine.
OP, did you by chance also pick up drinking when you turned 21?
thank you so much
does it work??
Beets are natures nitric oxide…so yes, it can work
but you have to do all the other things too
exercise, healthy eating, get the weight down, get the stress down, etc
No problem:)
At 59 and consistently keep a 120/70, and rest at 62-67 nightly. I use SuperBeets daily (before bed with my ZMA), and have added a low-dose Lycopene supplement with my morning fish oil and D-3. My cardio is a cheap imitation, consisting of 30 mins (5/6 days each week after stretching and before any weights) straight uphill (well, 50 degrees) walk/run/jog on the treadmill. I think walking is probably the most underrated tool in the box. It’s a great warm up/wake up and has not interfered with my gains/goals.

Swelling of the ankles (edema) is a fairly common side effect of amlodipine.
