Whether or Not to Use Steroids

Hello T-Nation,

Despite spending a respectable amount of hours reading informative posts and comments throughout this forum, this is my first personal post; therefore I apologize for omitting a formal introduction if such is necessary.

To briefly summarize what this post is about (in order to prevent wasting anyone’s time), in this post I am asking for advise about whether or not to perform a cycle of steroids, and if I were to do it, can those of you with experience please point out some tips or flaws that pertain to my planned cycle.

First off, I would like to introduce myself. I am the epitome of ectomorphism, the pinnacle of unfortunate (body mass related) genetics. As a senior in high school (age 18) I was 5’11" and weighed in at 115 lbs. I’ve always eaten normally, maintained an adequately active lifestyle, immune system in check, no diabetes, etc. That being said, I’m healthy, just very slim. Shortly after graduating from HS, I began feeling very irritated with myself being so underweight, so I began a dedicated journey into heavy weight lifting and enhanced dieting.

Here I am today, 15 months later with somewhat miraculous yet unsatisfactory progress. I’m still 5’11", but now weigh in at 145 lbs. The first 6 months of this journey I experienced excellent gains, however after those initial few months, I gradually entered a plateau of discouragement.

I have made many attempts to continue gaining more mass, but seen only minimal results. I know it’s my genetics that are creating this nearly impossible uphill battle, because many individuals of my preceding family (including my father) have been similarly underweight. Now I know many of you will say that I’m not eating enough or my workouts aren’t sufficient, and you may be correct. However, I have learned a thing or two about my body in the last 15 months, and I have come to a conclusion that I’m in need of little boost to slow down my ever-ambitious high metabolism, in order to make some effective gains again.

I am strongly considering undergoing a cycle of anabolic steroids in order to give me this much needed boost. In all honesty, I just want to reach about 175 lbs or so in order to look normal at least. I’m not looking to get ripped or huge, just want to stop being considered skinny, that’s it. I know from reading many posts that age-wise (at 19), I’m too young to do any steroids nonetheless I think that my honest intentions justify this as a case of potential therapeutic treatment. As mentioned, my father was similarly slim, some time ago however, he was involved in a severe accident in which he had to spend many months in the hospital. During his stay, his thin appearance concerned doctors, eventually he was administered steroids, since then he has gained and maintained a much fuller physique.

All this said, I am asking those of you who are experienced with steroids to lend me your insight on my situation and what your honest opinion is regarding whether I should perform a cycle of gear.

I have read much articles, posts, comments related to anabolic steroids and have created this plan for my steroid cycle. I understand my list may sound amateur, so I apologize in advance.

Nandrolone Decanoate 250 mg/w
Stanozolol 50 mg/w
Some form of test 250 mg/w

Not sure how long of a duration to keep this up, guessing around 5-8 weeks for a first timer.

PCT:
clomiphene or tamoxifen 50 mg for 2 weeks or so.

I’m not looking to do more than 1 cycle, so I wanted this cycle to be more potent than the cycle of a common beginner. I know this was alot to read, I apologize for writing so much extra info, please enlighten me with what you think about my situation and cycle plan.

Post your daily diet, if you have such a thing

You can’t convince anybody that you have been working out hard enough or eating enough food.Hire a trainer. At 19 you should have plenty enough test in you to gain muscle mass.

well, gaining 30 lbs of LBM in a little over a year is pretty impressive…

i genuinely don’t think you should use AAS. i think since you just want to look “normal,” you can do that by doing what you’re doing, or at least tweak your plan.

a couple things…

-i don’t know what you’re eating, but as you add LBM, it increases your RMR quite a bit… you might simply need to bump up your calories…
-19 year-olds used to be skinny… now they’re generally fat with moobs. when i was 18, i was 155, at 6’1" 2 years later, i was 220, and roughly the same bodyfat %. i didn’t use AAS at that time, and simply lifted as hard as i could, and ate a lot… by a lot, i mean at least 1 gm/protein per lb of bodyweight, and over 5000 kCals a day.
-if you are absolutely dead-set on cycling, then i’d bump up the deca and test to 400 mg/wk…

now realize, you can only hold on to the gains from AAS for so long once you cycle off… you said you only wanna do one cycle, but i doubt that is gonna happen…

NO Are you fucking kidding me man… You say you have read extensive amounts of information on this subject and yet you still ask if you should even consider running gear at this time… Either you lying, my definition of extensive and yours vary severely, or you are just ignorant and skipped over the parts you needed to read and only absorbed what you wanted and needed to hear.

  1. Your 8 fucking teen man no no no no… You will wind up like me. I ran cycles at 16-18 with piss poor planning like your self and now if I come off atleast a TRT dose I am a fucking woman who cant do jack shit. Your body is not ready and doing gear at this time can and most likely will cause more harm than good.

  2. You weigh under 150 damn pounds… You need to stop being fucking lazy and eat and train better. I understand your skinny and have a fast metabolism and it makes it harder for you to gain weight. But, just like every other damn 150 pound kid who ate a stupid amount of food and Squat, Benched, and Deadlifted heavy they gain size over time. There is 0 0 zero ZERO excuse for you not to be atleast at 180-200lbs espeacially at your height I mean come the fuck on man. I wish I had you problem when I was younger I mean you can eat like a mad man and don’t even have to stay clean a lot of the time and you will stay lean, recover better, and slowly but surely grow over time where as my fat ass LOOKS at Pizza and I get bloated.

  3. You suggested running Deca for 5-8 weeks… This will just then be kicking in at that time… If your research and knowledge is as in depth as you say you would know this already

  4. You want to run Deca on a first Cycle… really you read a lot huh?

  5. Your PCT is literally based off the words 2 weeks or so… WTF?

  6. You will not only run one cycle.

  7. Do you really wanna possibly fuck your self permanently to look fucking normal… If you do you have problems and need to talk to a shrink not a AAS Dealer.

If this is harsh to you then get over it you need to hear this its not a joke and I am not trying to be a dick for no reason but you need to think… and it is clear to me and probably most knowledgeable users here will agree. I am not just trying to steer you away from using gear but, not now. Eat, Lift, Sleep, Repeat. Get your weight up to at least 180 naturally, put in over a few months of training as in a year or 2 minimum and then come back here and I and most here will gladly help you but, your making a mistake.

I appreciate the honesty.

I just want to say the other side of the coin, there are people who have taken AAS as skinny as you are and made amazing progress as well. However there is alot less of them then the ones who were able to train and eat properly before hand and then started AAS.

I’ll say this though if I knew as much as I did about AAS as I did now, I would have started when I was 18-20(i started at 23). Its the truth.

No steroids at your age - you will regret it later once the effects wear off . Get your Test blood level checked though

If you have to ask, you probably aren’t ready.

Buddy thank’s for posting your picture: Please under No-Circumstance consider taking anything but protein, carb and fat’s…You are a ROOKIE and you don’t l even train.Fuck steroids:you are the Kid’s that make the newspaper’s when you fuck-up and your daddy tell’s the world steroids arev Evil?? My friend workout for 2,or 3yr’s and see if you have any natural abilitie’s. john
