Your comprehension is out of whack again. If you read my original post in regards to ProfX, it was not an attack, just an expression of opinion - I just meant fuck it, we don’t need another personality like that posting around here. I was never scared of the guy and I have told him that I’d never bow down to him when he was here.

He would have been that much greater a contributor if he had adjusted his attitude towards those less knowledgable, in his given areas of expertise, than himself. To have been more tolerant, patient, compassionate, benevolent and less condescending. As it turns out, the impression I received was that he was a grandiose, self-aggrandized prig.

I think we’re stuck with Rainjack, however, and he will be here until the day he dies - because he has nothing better to do with his life except post absurd opinionated shite on the internet and flame new people.

T-Nation is less of a place without the Prof. The guy was devastating and in general his posts were interesting and relevant, he must have spent a considerable amount of his time reading and posting on this site for the benefit of others. It was evident that he actually cared deeply about what was going on here, contrast that with the majority of posts in the forums at the moment…

JF, I’m not trying to be politically correct - I’m just outlining some examples of better attitude. I don’t think the Prof was such a bad guy, but I’m not one of those who was into kissing his ass. He was intelligent and did have interesting posts, but his huge ego got in the way and more often than not, he talked down to people in a condescending manner, due to his own perceived superiority of intellect, knowledge and experience.

Rainjack is also similar, but far more mean-spirited IMO. Even he said “I still post here 99% of the time specifically because I know someone will tell me I am full of shit if they disagree with me”. I’d show him more respect as a vet if he didn’t act like such an ass clown - but it seems that he’s the kind of guy who thrives on drama.

T-Nation doesn’t have to be a “broacracy”, as Anthony Roberts describes it, of everyone patting each other on the back. It doesn’t have to be a place for everyone to sling mud at each other either. Some people like drama just for the sake of drama. I am also a fan of telling it like it is - but I think some of the more destructive, down-putting bullshit should be left at the door.

Bushy summed up the purpose of T-Nation well in another thread, when he said that this should be a place for lively debate - “Lively debate sparks intelligent comments; varied, not polarised points of view; new trains of thought, etc…If people want drama, they should go and watch (TV). If they want to learn and develop, then this should be the place…”

Unfortunately, due to the flaming and condescension rampant on this board (and other BBing forums), some people are too afraid to post because they know they will take a bashing of their character. So it gets in the way of learning and development.
