Where's Professor X?

He was gone where just about everyone legit has gone - far away from the forums. And who can blame him?

The culture has shifted. This is a site that is becoming for 15-year olds with large allowances and 19-year olds who shop at Abercrombie.

Hell, just look at the posts. There’s a discussion in “Article Discussion” where people defend their favorite “strength coach” as if someone has attacked their favorite Pokemon. “My guy is bigger than your guy.” “Oh yeah? Well your guy uses steroids!”

In the “Get a Life” section, four dudes who live within walking distance of each other are having a ferocious argument over the Internet - replete with personal attacks and accusations of “Pussy!”

It’s a hostile environment for dedicated and intelligent people to discuss things. Anyone who remembers the forums from way back have noticed the shift.

Well hell, let’s not stick around and try to save something that we find to be valuable, let’s just give up and walk away.

Great attitude.

Ditto.

It seems that the replacements just aren’t made of the right stuff though. When I first arrived here I had AA, Prof X, Disc Hoss and many more bigger, stronger and more experienced guys to set me straight. Now These guys have either stopped posting or hardly ever post at all.

There are only a few places left on this site were I regularly post, and were I feel this bullshit has not spilled over. The hardcore feel for me has gone now for the most part. I gotta agree with Claw here Matt. One or two vets drifting away over time is understandable. But its been a mass exodus.

And how did AA, Prof X, and Disc Hoss get their start? Everyone is a beginner at some point. The only real difference is these guys went through most of their early phases before this site (and many in the industry) existed or offered the type of community that T-Nation has created.

The real question is who is going to step up and take the place of the “bigger, stronger, and more experienced guys”? And who is going to spend their time here complaining that “it’s just not the same”?

If you want hardcore, then get HARDCORE.

Wait, shouldn’t it have been “If you want hardcore, then GET hardcore”, since you’re emphasizing the point of action, or the journey, to hardcore-ness?

HA! Oh man, that actually made me laugh out loud. For all of the extensive-vocabulary-laden insults that are slung around here, that may have been the most blatantly biting of them all. And yet so simple, in its form. A classic.

Are you talkin’ smack?!

We’ll be waiting by the Oak trees after school.

This post needs an “amen” after it.

The old threads are the best… The Westside Threads, several member logs like Heavythrower’s… they are few and far between now. I stay in the Sex forum and the politics now.

Defend your favorite strength coach? Christ. Things are going downhill in the forums, but then TC already knew that. As long as there’s quality articles here, though, I’d keep coming back. Try and ignore the douchebags. There’s enough of them in real life that worrying about internet ones shouldn’t be anyone’s priority.

I do, for the most part, agree with everything Rainjack is saying… but it just ain’t worth my time to argue with kids on a website.

God, I hate you too!

I’ve tried numerous times to help the kids but for the most part:

  1. They can not accept criticism.
  2. They already think they KNOW what they need to do, so they don’t listen to anyone and hear only what they want.
  3. They are disrespectful of members.
  4. They lack basic comprehension and social skills.

I like seeing the pathetic old timers in this thread…they do exist, we are not gone, we must start an old school revolution…

We should start a ‘Put up or SHUT UP thread’…

anyone who challenges our advice, or talks like a 16 year old badd-ass will be “called out” to the thread…any who refuses to post their pic is a big pussy. We then can see who’s the talker around here. These guys need a little old fashioned HUMILITY.

God? While I appreciate the compliment, I will not stand for such blasphemy. Perhaps your savior, but I’m certainly not God.

Great, then we’ll have to hear more from that fat guy who used to play in Beaver Stadium and that crotchety 63 year old guy who wears a bandanna.

I agree. I pretty much stay in the Off Topic section. I will journey into the Strength Sports forum occasionally if there are worthwhile threads.

So by your logic, if people were trashing your neighborhood with kettlebells and pink dumbbells, you wouldn’t leave the house?

Get your grass roots on and do something about it.

Hey what about my progress thread? I’m willing to learn for ya’ll vets, just give me a chance guys. Then when/if you do give advice I’ll just do what rockscar said

Nope. I just don’t like needle-dicked assholes like you. You know shit about AAS. You know shit about lifting. You know shit about nutrition. You know shit about ProfX.

My words aren’t tough. They are the truth. Anyone with a functioning brain stem knows this.

Trust me, scooter. You need to walk away. You don’t have near the vocabulary, or intellect to hang with me in a flame war.

Hell - you are already going for the gay references. How old are you? 13?

[/quote]

Your words are only the truth within your OWN narrow mind.

I have more important things to do than hang with your sorry ass in an internet flame war. My intellect and vocabulary are no less than yours, fuckwad. But why would I waste my mental energy and time arguing with a lardass like you?

Your personality suggests chronic emotional and physical constipation. You’re so uptight and angry in most of your posts - I can just picture you as you’re typing, your fat face turning red, like you’re trying to squeeze out a titanic, onerous turd.

Unlike you, lifting weights, eating and doing steroids aren’t my life. So I don’t need a fucking degree in the subject, just enough working knowledge to get by and make gains.

Forget it, senior - you are waaaaaaay past your prime, which is why you are compensating by huffing and puffing on the internet.

Everyone leaves from time to time. Whether it’s a break from training or whatever.

One of the funniest ones was when there was a “mass exodus.” A bunch of the “veterans” left. I forget what it was about exactly. It was some petty bullshit I believe. So they left and “joined” another website. There was an IMMENSE amount of shit being talked. It was funny to see it all.

After “other” website “error’ed” for a while, I began to see some of the same departures on the site again. Some used the same name, others changed names. But it was easy to tell who was who.

I couldn’t understand why, after ALL that shit certain ones talked about this place, they ceased being Rugged and came back.

It must be something in the Surge.

This is something that has interested me somewhat since it gets brought up every once in a while without much explanation. What was this great split in the community that I missed?

Yeah…and where else would you find a website where they make little videos of you as if in the Lord of The Rings movie of RCJ Jacking Rockscar off?

Irish DickBag would probably enjoy that one! Where is it???

The thread where it all “happened” I believe is gone. I don’t know all the details, and don’t want to get any wrong, so I won’t comment on it.
