working on your punching is a matter of mostly going through the motions.
But the key is in footwork. It must be quick and precise, because balance is a very delicate thing. If you fight your balance because of sloppy footwork, you will not have leverage to hit hard and you will get tired quickly.
For quickness, you must have powerfull and elastic legs.
I do my quick-feet drills, agility drills and plyometrics twice a week religiously. And that is not all.I do tons of jumping rope in the boxing gym…
One more tip for those hard-living comrades who would have to fight for life…work on your liver-upper-cut.
People instictively protect their heads and many even dont know they can be knocked down with punch in the liver.
To train this is not easy.heavy bag will not help.
You have to train this with sparring partner holding pads low.
But its worth it.
Every body is trying to get heavy boxing bag in their basemant and garage.
It is not good for someone without a lot of boxing experience to do a lot of heavy bag work. You will develop a lot of bad habits.its mostly a matter of the bag will not hit back. Also people muscle their punches too much.
You are better off to do couple of rounds of shadow boxing, a few times a week.Or better for someone to hold you pads, but in a reactive manner to sharpen your reflexes.
Sparring is BEST!!!
stretch a lot.do neck and abs work and jump a rope alot.

MY LIFTING ROUTINES
legs are heavily emphasized.Unilateral work is done before squatting&deadlifting.BBstep-ups or heavy lunges.Bulgarian squats.side deadlifts.
then variations of squats-overhead,front,back
deads-classic,sumo,wide grip,from a deficit
also some olympic lifts-i dont know to do snatch well,so i stick with clean&jerks, also powercleaning,hang-clean(great exercise),dumbell snatches and swings.
i dont bench lately.I have switched benching for military pressing-one-arm dumbell pressing or bb power-presses.
I also do behind-the -neck presses sometimes.
i do a lot of bent-over-rowing.singles and repetitive dumbell work.its very important for my wrestling.
i do my shrugs religiously in addition to tons of neck strenghtening to further stabilize my neck.
i do back hyperextensions for high reps, heavy dumbell side-bends almost to the floor for obliques, leg raises.also hip-flexors stretches to the point of pain.
i do lots of chins& dips supersets with only bodyweight to condition my arms and upper trunk.
Thats it.
And not to forget…
tossing medicine ball hard and jumping for distance.and sprinting the stairs will work wonders for your combat ability.
When you feel sick after rough night at night club, sprinting the stairs will do wonders for you to sober and collect yourself. And you will be more fit in a fight and in bed.with those cheap hungry women!
Some of my nerdy friends got jobs.so they decided to buy an apartment. They took bank credits for 30 years pay-off.
i said,f*** that,i dont want a weight around my neck for thirty f***** years.
i ll be dead anyway much sooner.
i will live on the street if neccessary!!

Top O the mornin to ya Balbos… are you going for the site record of post in 24 hours? Goddam you post alot… and I thought I posted too much. You’ll have me beat in 1 day.
You do have some good training ideas and it seems like you do alot of the important exercises such as heavy compound lifts and unilateral worj and agility skills.
I think I might have even picked up a tip or two out of your trainwreck of posts.
Did you ever think about putting all your energy into just one thing or one sport? I think if you would concentrate it instead of spread it all out… you might be real successful in some athletic endeavor. You have alot of enthusiasm and energy… and its nice to see. I don’t like quiet people. I like em’ loud like yourself and straight foward. I like people who don’t take themselves too seriously. You seem to do that. I hope you just take all your energy and put it to use for something positive.
I wouldn’t worry about what others may think of you and your lifestyle, I’m sure there is alot of us that are over the top. that just means you have something to offer. Hope you figure out what that is someday and put it to good use. Good luck buddy. You are one unique individual.
