What I would do if I had to vacation solo.
Buy a plane ticket to Hawaii and another to come back after my money ran out, or maybe after a few months if I decided to work.
I would find a home base, around a gym. Which from what I hear, they have a higher percentage of real gyms compared to the main land. I would then find some good herbal supplements, and day hike while taking pictures. I would spend the night in weird places when I went to far and live off the land. Find some of those mushrooms they are famous for over there.
I would find me a few Hawaiian girlfriends to sleep with and make me breakfast in the morning before I went to go work and/or train and surf. I would probably ride a bike everywhere and live on the beach and have fish and fruit every meal.
I got that idea after listening to a Samoan preacher man that came to the mainland to see his grandson get married, tell about his life.
