haha…I think you watch too many movies. Yes, they will happen (in fact we are overdue for a major one) but in my life I have only experienced one major earthquake in southern California. Of course there was a major one in San Francisco as well. The thing is, there is no earthquake season, it just happens every once in a long while. Other states have a season of potential natural disasters…no thanks.

But hurricane parties are FUN!!

Is that the storm or the drink?

Haha, well what else does one drink during the storm??

Just to put in my fav. places:

New Mexico. Absolutely gorgeous. From the mountains to the desert, great climate. Don’t know much about their economy though.

Montana. Again, a gorgeous state, especially west Montana. Though the winters ar pretty harsh, I’d retire there.

These two states made the biggest impression on me as far as climate, scenery, and seeming peacefullnes. I’d vote for Cali, but it’s far too crowded already, though Santa Cruz is a cool place. Ok, northern Cali is really nice too.

The cold water in San francisco wouldnt bother me to much.I was swimming tis past weekend at Aussie’s south coast. We are in the middle of summer and the water was that cold im still trying to find my balls it was THAT cold.
I dont know how people can have those ice bath’s .

Im thinking i should go for a holiday to the US for a month or 2 and visit as many places as i can just to get a feel for them as see which one’s i like.

The San Andreas (biggest fault) veers Eastwards as it passes LA; so much so that it lies about 200 miles inland. There are several minor faults in the San Diego area, but nothing like what lies north in LA and San Francisco.

Well, at least we can prepare for a storm and decide weather or not to ride it out, unlike an earthquake which strikes without warning.

I know exactly what you’re talking about!

When I’m outside the state and tell people I live in Oklahoma, they seem to think that we spend all our time dodging tornadoes out here. Like we all wear helmets just in case a sudden tornado drops in on us!

Yea, what a party that one was.

Depending on where you live in the U.S. and your nationality, gender, race, political views will be a huge factor into your experience.

I wouldn’t tell a Nigerian that if he wants to see the beauty and fun of America to move to a very small Midwestern/Southern/Northern town and have a blast.

Also laid back is cool, but if you get bored quickly I would say many of the small towns/suburbs and quasi-cities in much of America are probably not going to cause much excitement.

New York City is fun and not fun. For instance I am from a smaller town so I don’t like being crowded or rushed. The MTA subway system is HORRIBLE. If you like smelling weird things worrying about the crazy homeless shit head going postal, getting jammed into a cart, and so on then it’s for you.

What I do agree on New York:

 1. The women are diverse and ranges of beauty in people is not found anywhwere else to my knowledge (which is mortal and limited.)

 2. If you don’t have enough money to live in either of the Villages, Williamsburg, downtown, nice parts of Queens et cetera, than your experience will differ. New York City may be progressive but don’t think that people aren’t mostly neatly segregated by social class, race, et cetera.

Still when I venture to other places even though I am not a Native City person I can’t help but think how ass backwards many places can be.

I have family in Arizona and went out there, fucking beautiful, but I can see how it would get boring in some of the slower parts.

Harlem is tame as said above and currently being gentrified.

PS. Seeing how you like pro wrestling, when ECW had a show at the Hammerstein Ballroom (downtown), I got down there in 20 minutes, nothing like that. New York has a huge fun/interest factor definitely, not always pretty, but you have seen pretty all its life in Aussie land.

Its in Center city.

An there is nothing more touristy than running up the stairs.

i bet my life there are alot of ppl native to philly that run those steps daily.

In actuality, Im glad I was raised in Detroit, its bred a certain tenacity in us that people here wouldn’t understand unless your from here. The place is overflowing with testosterone. Im proud to say Im from Detroit.

That being said, despite the fact I love snowboarding, the weather here sucks.

Ive heard from everyone and their brother that Arizona is the place to be. After school is up, Im looking to move there possibly.

I second that, stay away from DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
Oh come on. Don’t scare the guy away from the most powerful city in the world. I was born in the DC Metro area, raised in the area, looked around and came right back to this area. My family roots are here and everything.

That being said; Stay away from Northern VA, DC and Southern Maryland. If its considered DC Metro area, run! The people are all self righteous, self important, too rich to be friendly, and too important to be nice. You will not get the proper impression of America moving here.

I loved my time in Charlotte. I am a very big fan of that area. I really like the Charlestown, WV area and Orlando, FL. But thats just my two cents.

Good Point mate

Thats why i will do a 1 or 2 month holiday just to see what it is like.

if all else fails i can always move to Queensland’s sunshine coast.

Peace

Why Queensland mate? Have you ever been to Perth? If you like the laid back lifestlye it could be for you…I know a lot of Ozzies bag it butI love the place. BEAUTIFUL part of the world.

I’ve also been to LA, Vegas and New York. I suspect you wouldn’t like any of them if you don’t like big cities.

I really like New York but LA was pretty much my idea of hell on earth.

My brother lives in Harlem, and it’s pretty nice. The city has cleaned up the area a lot in the past 15 years, and now it’s an area of growth in the NYC area.

If I had money to invest, I would invest it all in the Harlem housing market. Every dime I had, right now.

I’d die a very rich man too.

Hmm. This nation is WAY more than NY and LA. Those are just the cliche places, and not representative of the USA.
Yes. So True.

Come to Louisiana.

We got Boudin.

AND CRACKLIN.
