Let’s arrange that in order of priority, shall we?

I was going more with the theme had to accomplish all these activities to reach the promise land.

I appreciate all the feedback T-Nation and pushharder-thanks for all the phots…amazing shots!

Recently decided that flying in and then renting a car would be easier and depending on how a car rental company charges me being a 21 year old possibly cheaper.

The trip is shaping up like this…

Fly into Flagstaff, drive to monument valley (northern AZ/technically southern UT), from there the 4 corners monument, from there to the grand canyon, from grand canyon to vegas, from there its a toss-up. From vegas to venice? Any other places in CA within a half-day or so drive? Any suggestions? Doesnt matter what state just any drivable area Would like to head back down to Scottsdale/Tempe area before finally flying back out of Flagstaff.

Trip looks like it could be 8-10 days.

I’d go to SD over Venice Beach.

Update

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I just bought my plane ticket.

Ill be flying into Colorado Springs, CO next Tuesday (OCT 25). Ill be spending the night there and then planning on visiting Garden of the Gods there the next day and driving through
Sante Fe/Albuquerque (any suggestions on which I should stay at and then check out the next day?). From there I plan on visiting Monument Valley, then Grand Canyon. Sunday I will be attending the PBR World Championship in Vegas, I cant wait for that. I then fly back to Florida Monday (OCT 31).

Thanks again and if there are any other suggestions on things i should see on that timeframe let me know.

Garden of the Gods is awesome. Jealous of your PBA tickets.

Personally I would head West out of Colorado and swing through Southern Utah on the way to the Grand Canyon. There are a lot of spectacular national parks around Moab and Southwest towards Zion.

Make sure you bring your own beer into Utah though, theirs sucks. How the hell do you make an IPA with 4% ABV?

The only thing set in stone is the dates i fly and being in vegas sunday for the PBR finals so ill look into it. Thanks for the suggestion.

From Grand Canyon swing through Bryce and Zion parks on your way to Vegas. Yeah, this a definites, do stop as you will NOT be disappointed !!! caught snow there in 1998 and again in oct of 2002 and glad I did. It is really that beautiful…have fun and keep the camera batteries charged ; )

Now that its been mentioned and Ive looked at some stuff on it I absolutley will be going through Zion. I honestly cant wait. I need to buy myself a good camera!

Hit Arches national park while you are out there, you won’t be sorry. Two national parks in close proximity to Moab and Capital Reef NP where they filmed Galaxy Quest on the way to Zion.

If you have never been in this area, pictures can’t do it justice. The scope of things is out of this world.

In Zion hike to the top of Angles landing, provided you are not afraid of heights, as there is a 1700’ drop off either side. Or the emerald pools are another one. Zion you park and then use their very efficient shuttle system ; ) keep traffic and noise pollution down.

Around Moab you have Canyonlands, Arches, Bryce, Zion…you could spend 3+ days at any one of these on there own and STILL not see all they have to offer…have fun !

Midland, Texas

While you’re out there do something constructive for this thread: http://tnation.T-Nation.com/free_online_forum/sex_girls_pictures_hot_pics_photo_women/sex_locations

If you do Texas do not hit Midland. In Austin you can kayak both lakes and rivers, rock climb, cruise a banging night scene (thanks UT) full of live music… The Chisos mountains are cool too but desolate.[/quote]

+1

Well I just got back from my trip last night. Thanks for all the input everyone much appreciated. FYI here was my trip: flew into Colorado Springs, CO and hiked Garden of the Gods, drove through the Rockies to Moab, UT and hiked Arches National Park. Went from UT to Monument Valley, AZ/UT and camped out there.

From there drove through Grand Canyon and Kaibab and went into Flagstaff. Stayed in Flagstaff, went to a few bars, then went out to Nevada, saw the Hoover Dam, walked the strip in Vegas for an hour and realized it wasnt for me (at least not without a buddy), and drove out of town. Drove through AZ and NM along Route 66 for a little while and back up to Colorado Springs where I flew back to FL.

Best Spots: Arches was amazing, Grand Canyon was unbelievable (but to truly enjoy it I think I would have needed a few days/week to camp and kayak.)
Things I wish I would have done: I didnt check out Olympic Training center in Colorado Springs, CO. Really wish I did. Also, I didnt see Canyonlands national park in Moab, UT. Another place that I think 3-4 days would be what you need to see everything (4wheelin, camping, hiking, rafting, rock climbing).

Really think I would like to get into rock climbing, but living in FL might make that difficult. But thanks again for all the advice!

And oh yea the beer in Arizona and Colorado are on a different level.

**And in case anyone is interested in pics ill put a few up if interested.
