I Think the USA gets somewhat of a negative bias here because of the wipespread availability of debtal and regularity of checkups a higher % of true fillings required will be found and recorded, i know brit kids who have never been to the dentist, who most likely are in desperate need of multiple fillings. Not to mention that with the current structure of NHS dental care in the UK the dentist has little incentive to provide a ‘filling’ and is more likely to extract a poor condition tooth, which, i believe, would not show as a statistic in the table.

While obviously not always the case, in mine and my parents (both dentists) experience british poor dental hygeine stereotype is very much earned. But as you say it is a somewhat less prevailing feature in younger generations.

Lol I was joshing at my local one I think there’s a waiting list of up to a year. When it opened they were queuing round the block. Most people I know go private.
