-Television (Netowrks, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, etc.)
-Newspaper
-Covservative Talk Radio (Limbaugh, Hannity, local news shows, etc)
-Other Talk Radio (Stern, Don & Mike, local non-conservative talk shows, etc.)
-Local Radio (Not a talk show. Something like a news break )
-Internet
-Word of mouth
-Other (specify in a reply)
-I don’t really listen to the news
Various news channels - CNN, Fox, MSNBC, CNBC. I look at more than one.
I watch C-SPAN quite a bit.
I hit a few blogs.
I read the Wall Street Journal.
I even occasionally watch the Cable Access channel to see the various fringe political shows (Democracy Now!, etc.), not so much for news, but for learning what other people think about the news.
I don’t have television, I don’t listen to the radio, and I try to stay away from any discussion political. So I guess word of mouth, but I generally ignore people when they talk about news… it took me 3 days to figure out who won the stanley cup… and I didn’t even know who was playing in the first place.
So I know I am definatley in the minority on this topic, but I just don’t care about the world that doesn’t directly affect me.
I rely on a variety of media. There are however a few places that I do not look for news, and for obvious reasons. I never ever watch CNN because of the obvious liberal slant. They should not even pretend to be fair-they are a joke! I rarely view Fox because of the conservative slant.
I do not consider CBS, ABC or NBC reliable either, as they always put a liberal bias on the news. That leaves MSNBC, (not bad sometimes)for television.
I read the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today. Various weekly magazines.
Lately I’ve been listening to the AirAmerica radio station (you can listen over the web at www.AirAmerica.com) I like The O’Franken Factor the best but there is a lot of good stuff on the air there.
I get my news by eavesdropping on what the old-timers are complaining about over breakfast in the local diner. I used to read the paper, but that’s more intertainment than news. Actually I like the little news links on yahoo, because they’re current and sometimes have stories from foreign sources and wires so you get a fuller picture. Waiting to see South Park satirize things is also a good way to get the news.
OK, here’s the point of the poll. I always hear about the “Liberal Media.” However, last week, a talk show host mnetioned that people uder 40 don’t really pay attention to the mass media.
Of the things I listed above, I would say the Televsion and Newspapaers are really the only things that would be mass media.
I agree with what he said. It doesn’t matter if the mass media is biased, it doesn’t effect people under 40.
(If you care, I get most of my news from Conservative Talk Radio. I also get some from Other Talk Radio and teh Internet.)

Problem is the majority of the voting populace (as distinct from the voting-age populace) isn’t under 40 – it’s old folks.
Where I get my news from is from Fox News. But also from several websites…Which do tell one the news that you are hearing or reading about, that no one else will report about. Or giving one the truth. News which is not one sided, biased, or they are pushing to get the far left nmessage out.
For Weeklies I read
Congressional Quarterly
National Journal
Weekly Standard,
US News and World Report
National Review
Newsweek
and the New Republic for shits and giggles.
and watch the Sunday shows…Meet the Press being the best of them.
