I might understand if somebody stole bread to feed their starving children. But CC theft is senseless. In any case you should check into a Credit Freeze. Most states allow them and it will lock your credit file where nobody can open up credit lines in your name:

Yea, that and the postage. Imagine the costs they would incur if everyone did the same? Also you could add in heavy items to the envelope so the shipping return rates jump. Throw in some lead sinkers or something cheap but heavy. Couple bucks per envelope in postage multiplied by the no doubt BILLIONS of letters they send out and they would quickly become bankrupt. (only to then be bailed out by the government again)
