When did my life begin? When I became a human life, starting my journey through my own human life cycle.
Sloth, ur picture on the previous post has an embryo at the start of life, does that mean u r against abortion? Make sure u vote the way u BELIEVE in Nov, not the ‘popular’ vote. Last time I checked Obama was pro-CHOICE. hhmmm There’s a word for that, hypocrite isn’t?

This is the beginning of “life” for a Zebra Fish. The first 24 hours after fertilization. What’s so cool about a Zebra fish? Zebra Fish is a widely used model organism that shares many features with higher vertebrates.
Doesn’t look much different than any single celled organism to me. Could be mold, algae, human, monkey cow… at an early stage of development.

Yeah! John the Maverick is totally gonna ban abortion like all the other times Republicans have been in office or controlled congress. Dont worry, they’re not playing you rubes for votes…they’re totally gonna do it this time!!!

Looks?
It’s not what it looks like, what it knows, or what it feels. If it has unique human DNA, it is human. If it has frog DNA - it’s a frog.
A human’s life starts the second it possesses unique human DNA.
Who gives a shit what a Zebra fish looks like at the beginning of life?

So, when is your earliest memory?
i was sitting in the backseat of my mom’s car the day of my parents divorce.
How did you know it was the backseat of your mom’s car? Clearly at this point you had already learned and retained many memories, just not ones of episodic nature.
From birth, a child relentlessly learns and constantly creates new memories. Crawling and walking and talking require the formation of memories. This kind of memory is still real, even though it is not autobiographical. (See episodic vs semantic memory, and nondeclaritive memory.)

Sentience is the ability to feel or perceive subjectively.
So you pulled it off of Wikipedia and are now an expert, but if you actually thought about it for a fraction of a second, you might realize how meaningless this is. All perceptions are subjective, so “feel or perceive subjectively” is redundant. Perception, the ability to make sense of sensory stimuli, is something that all mammals are capable of.
For someone who flaunts his education in half his posts while calling people idiots in the other half, you’re certainly having a lot of trouble coming up with a reason who newborns are superior to cows. It shouldn’t be that hard. Keep trying.

Just so we all remember, when I asked what made human life valuable, Beowolf said “sentience, duh”.
I don’t expect to see him on this thread again.

exactly right rainjack! all life might start and look the same but to think that we came from an amoeba into the deep functioning organisms we r with ‘“ten to the 14th power” (that’s 100 trillion)’ according to Science Net Links, doesn’t make any sense. Even if we did (I don’t think we did, but no one knows that answer) does it make sense that we evolved without help? Hmm, use that logic in ur heads people!

Oviously the last word is meant to be cow.
Your post makes no sense rainjack.
Why can’t I compare a cow to a human life? Cows are more intelligent, self aware than an infant. Why is a cow’s life less valuable than the infant’s apart from the fact that an infant is a human?
I was unaware that a cows inherent purpose was to provide milk and clothes.
Oh for the love of… I’m pro-choice. I’m willing to defend my position. But comparing humans to cows?
You have to be the WORST debater I have ever seen on the internet.
ON THE INTERNET. Do you have any idea how bad you must be?
You’re not going to convince pro-lifers you aren’t crazy by comparing human life to a fucking STEAK DINNER.
Why don’t you tell me then what makes human life more valuable than a cow?
Well, cows taste better so +1 cows right?
Cows dont piss me off as much either so thas +2
Thers 6 billion people on the planet so thats -500 for people.
OK so by your logic a cow is 503 better than a person.
What the fuck is the matter with you?

I’m not the one projecting my sexual fantasies onto others. You seem to have that covered.
You seem a little defensive about your cow-fucking. Would you prefer kangaroos?
Why cattle?
Roos are tighter.

Didn’t have access to a computer.
A) Newborns have self sentience.
B) A few animals do too, and I’m all for protecting them.
C) Sentience isn’t the be all end all of abortion. It just separates kids from cows.

I’m not actually saying a cow’s life is more valuable than a human’s. I just want someone to tell me why.

A) No
B) Pretty well all mammals do.
C) If it’s what separates something you are allowed to kill from something you are not then you should be able to kill newborns.

You still aren’t getting it. Self sentience has nothing to do with what we can and cannot kill.
It just separates a kid from a cow. A cow doesn’t know its a cow. A kid knows its a kid.
One has a lot of higher brain function. One doesn’t.
First of all your statement is wrong. Infants don’t know what they are and in that respect animals are smarter.
Secondly, I asked you what made human life valuable. I asked you why human life was more valuable than a cow’s. You said sentience. Now you’e changed your tune.
You are right I don’t get it.

Obama is beyond pro-choice. He’s pro-infanticide. He voted against the ‘Child born alive act’ 4 times. I.E. If a kid is born alive that technically should not have been (whether through botched abortion or otherwise), he o.k.'d it to be killed and/or allowed to die. 4 times! That in my book makes him below dog shit. I wouldn’t give him the sweat off of my balls if he was dying of thirst, the motherfucker.
