While I’m sorry you feel that way, I really wasn’t asking you to “buy anything.” All I did was list a definition from the dictionary, and provide the facts of the matter concerning the government and healthcare industry’s perspective. I only suggested that you look at the links in case you were uninformed on the issue.
In no way am I going to get in an argument defending my profession (and for the record, there are many docs in this profession that I wish were not, as they make it an uphill battle for the rest of us. However, this is true in all professions) on this forum, as I have no reason, nor the time or inclination to do so.
The beautiful thing about this country is that you are entitled to your own opinion, even when this opinion is contrary to what the government or regulatory agencies proclaim.
Actually, I commend you on displaying your ignorance (this does not mean stupidity, only that you are uneducated on the topic) and prejudice on this issue. It has been duly noted. No further attempt to educate you regarding this issue will be made on my part, as it would be a waste of both of our time.
I enjoy participating in this forum, since for the most part, the people I interact with on a daily basis have no or limited interest in the T-nation info, so it is nice to be able to interact with people with similar interests.
As for Ph.D’s being doctors, they are, and they are often referred to as such. They just aren’t medical doctors either. I know I called all the Ph.D’s that taught my classes, Doctor. I guess out of respect, as opposed to feeling obligated to do so.
