Didnt have it on squats today, was GMing the fuck outta the bar but I got throught it.

Full disclosure, Paul Carter talks about 80, +10, -10 days, today was a plus 20 day everything felt great as such I kind of veered of the program…I couldn’t waste the day, they don’t happen often

HTS training week 9 day 2

Bench - w/u 315x6(+1pr) 335x4(+2pr) 355x2(new pr) 365 BAM new 10lb pr…all sets except the 365 were paused.

Floor Press w/u to 340x2 (TnG) +20lb PR.
DB Incline - 115x20 105x20,12

I just used new elbow wraps from howmuchyabench.net im sure these had something to do with the increase in benching today as well, I felt no pain in my elbows or forearms.

First time doing a rack pull in ages, the 515 went up pretty smoothly, it was about 6 inches below kneecap so about mid shin, I think I could have done more but my back was bitching so stopped it there.

I think for the forseeable future I may drop OH press from the rack and go with the clean and press, I like the explosive nature of it, Im doing it somewhat Wendler style wherein its a pretty strict press with no leg drive. One day I will do Clean High Pulls and another clean and press…

Big struggle today, being at the beach plus having blood drawn before training may have sapped my energy, but got through it. I feel pretty jacked up, may take ice shower and make love to my roller

Matty- Between HTS and adding in several extra movements each workout you have been doing a lot of work lately so I’m not surprised your jacked up. I know I couldn’t handle the workload you have done the past week.

Numbers look good especially OHP 3 sets of 2 at 225 followed by 5x205 and 8x185 is real strong in my book. Nice work!

Thanks so much dude, I admit I may have pushing the volume a bit, I have to find a good middle ground. HTS training is awesome I love it, it also allows me to do some movements I feel really help, but I have to cut down a bit, I didnt do any tri movements today and will only do weighted chins and some back off bench sets on the HTS bench day, which will not overdo it…

I hear you brother. I’m not a high volume guy and even I feel like doing more on a lot of the HTS upper body days. With the success Adam has had programming I’m trying to stick as close as I can to what he says. My thought process is that if I throw a bunch of other stuff in and don’t move forward I won’t know if its the programming or the added work that stalled my progress.

I agree but I just cant to 2 reps of 2 sets and call it a day, I like doing some burn out sets and feel like this will help rather than hurt. I try my best not to go over the prescribed weight but like today session I will do an extra a couple extra sets at a lower weight, or add in a variation of a row. We will see but so far so good!

Good day, bench has felt really strong, eventually Id like to see how many reps I can get 315 for, it has always been a goal to get 315x10 and feel this is now attainable. Shoulder feels good bar path was nice and fluid today.
