Matty- Sometimes I wish I trained at a gym with a training partner rather than at home but your post snapped me back to reality. No way could I stand waiting that long between sets. Your schedule change sounds like it should take care of the problem.
Are you getting stoked about the meet yet?
ONE! Training partner is good, especially for spotting help, observation and needed kicks in the ass and or pats on the back.
However this is getting ridiculous…way too much wasted time…
As far as the meet, goes, sounds corny but Im doing alot of visualization, of me being successful…right now I would consider my mood tempered excitement

Corny, nah, there’s tons of studies about how “vizing” it. Its like practicing without practicing, establishing neural pathways, yadda yadda. Google Blaslotto, etc
Increases in gravity happen all the time in my basement. Makes even the warm up sets feel heavy. I’ve trained alone for so long I can’t imagine even having one lifting partner. Three would drive me crazy. Hope Smolov give you some great gains. Good luck with the sleep.
Trainers partners really helpful for powerlifting id everyone is knowledgeable. Sucks if your head dog. What I mean is you end queing everyone and helping everyone else out with little in return. Sucks triple if also a Trainer.
Matty I feel your pain but with workout partners give it time and it will gel. Trust me if your competive and someone is of equal or close to your strength it is Golden!!!
Positive thoughts:
Gravity wasn’t heavy you werent warmed up enough.
405 wasn’t high you were just prepping the pathway for domination…
Training with partners -we took it slow @ first and will start to ramp up intensity now.
Question: Why are contemplating Smolov so strongly, you already did Madcow’s intermediate 3/week program and the intensity is right there with it.
Matty if want size in your legs after your meet PM and I will give you a program just for that. It will also build strength as well, will aso include a upperbody lift programmed in as well.

I guess thats just my cynical side talking…its funny though I have no problem questioning my negative visualizations!

One guy is of equal strength I have a better Dead he has a better squat but is green as far as lifting the right way goes, I have actually taken him under my wing as far as guiding him as he is only 23 and never did things the right way and he is continuing great beginner gains…from never squatting before to hitting 425 way below parallel, from only benching on the SMITH machine to bench 350 touch n go, we got his MP to 205 he struggles with DL however we switched him to Sumo and just got him to 405. Im very proud of him and have him going into my meet with me on June 3, I got to him early in the lifting game and I really think hes gonna be a good one. Hes a big boy 6’1" 285,
The other 2 guys are total noobs, one is a good friend who is more interested in Body transformation, conditioning and weight loss more then strength training but we just got him pulling 330 and he is a skinny thing and his squat and bench are moving along nicely
But the problem is Im teaching too much and not giving myself enough attention and thus in there for 3 hours…but this will come to an end when my job changes hours as I will only be training with one guy with the same goals in mind…Im actually pretty proud of him

Not only is Rick an awesome trainer and lifter…he is the Confucius of the O35 section!
Benchin…Decided that my opener will be 320 for bench, but I gotta say that shit did not go up as smoothly as it used to while touch n go I hit for a relatively easy triple paused is a different story, however I hit 320 for a pause a few weeks ago with ease…anyway next week is the last week of any real lifting after that ill just be greasing the wheels…
It’s close. Watched it 5 times just for the music.
hahaha me too, gotta love circus music.
ONLY cause Lula is gonna say it, we could tell better if you took off your shorts.
Seriously though, all the college boys are sporting the shorty shorts…
