What Will Serve McCain Best?

McCain’s central message is “I’m not Obama”, and that’s not helping one bit.

I beg to differ. Obama is running off the message of “I’m not Bush”. That is how many people see this election it is Obama vs “Bush” [/quote]

Feel free.

But I’m talking about how I perceive it. And it’s evident that Obama’s talk about “change” and “hope” to come (however shallow and phony), stands in contrast to McCain capitalizing on not being a Democrat plus his torture experience.

You’re probably biased if you see Obama as running on “I’m not Bush”. Hillary would have run on that. I can’t recall anything Obama said about not “being Bush”. McCain does it at every single occasion. Besides, Bush having been the “change” candidate back in 2000, it’s best for Obama to avoid any parallels with that guy.

For this elections it wouldn’t matter who the Democrats put up or for that matter anyone that ran. They are all gonna be using the anti-Bush angle, because its popular.

It would be foolish to not capitalize on peoples hatred of the man, but I see him using that as half his platfrom. “Change”…from the evil and dumb Bush Administration and “Hope”…in me that I wont fuck things up worse

McCain’s ad, although tasteless to some, is a statement of the obvious. McCain has to do the job the media should be doing to set himself apart from the messiah.

My friends and I refer to Obama as Black Jesus hahaha

Note how Obama refused to join McCain in a series of “Lincoln-Douglas” style debates, wanting to limit his campaign to prepared speeches. There is a reason.

I can’t for the life of me figure out why the mccain campaign hasn’t forced the issue. he committed to doing them and now is backing away.

The people that are running the mccain campaign appear to be a bunch of fuckups. This should be an easy victory and they are focusing on petty bullshit. They could tear this guy apart on real issues. A discrace really. I can only hope that they are holding off as a matter of timing and stratagy.

To any fans of the Onion on here, The Onion Movie is worth watching, has several funny moments and great skits. Can find a torrent for it pretty easily, or pay for it if so inclined

I think they already both had her.

Obama is just total shit for the simple fact that he cannot speak with any real coherency for even a single minute regardless of whether he has a prepared speech or not. It is so painful seeing him have a prepared response to an attack made on him that sounds like he is coming up with it right on the spot. “Y’know… the… uh… uh… McCain’s gas tax… holiday plan… kinda sucks. St-st-stutterstistics say that he like… isn’t right.”

I don’t see how he can actually hold up in any debates. His supporters may blindly agree with everything he says but it will still sound like shit to any reasonably logical person.

Thats the key there…LOGICAL person

The biggest issue to the average American right now is the economy and more specifically gas prices. McCain needs to make a huge deal about the fact that Obama adamently opposes more drilling, anywhere, despite the fact that the majority of Americans are for it.

He needs to call out Obama on his number of “present” votes, both in the Illinois and US Senate. The guy has no backbone.

He needs to bring up Obama’s opposition to the Born-Alive Infant Act, which again he opposed with a present vote.

He needs to call attention to his flip-flopping on guns, the war, and the death penalty. Does anybody really even know where Obama stands on these issues today?

He needs to point out that it is Obama that is playing divisive politics with his overuse of the race card. Apparently Republicans only like green presidents.

Republicans are accused of negative campaigning, but none of these things are negative. McCain doesn’t need to portray Obama as anything other that what he is, he just needs to make sure Americans know as much about him (Obama) as possible.
