I have two girls 11 and 13 and we have encouraged questions from an early age. We didn’t lay everything out at once, but made them comfortable enough to ask if there was something they didn’t understand.
My wife bought my oldest daughter a pretty comprehensive book this year, that she spent several days engrossed with. However, after the first few days and once she got over the giggle factor she has really kind of ignored it.
As a father this is really a difficult subject. You have to clue them in to the risks of sex, but at them same time I want my children to grow into happy healthy young women who are comfortable with their bodies and the joys of sex when it is time. Wow, did I just type that?
And AC you are right, Catholic girls = easy pickings.

Because people that study this crap don’t study real subjects like math and science. Then they find out boys are smarter. It works both ways.
I’ve given my daughter and step daughter the straight up about boys. it seems my daughter might be listening better, but they both have their heads pretty straight.
And kudos to Jewbacca, you did it the right way. Sex is thrown out there to easy and I think it’s lead to a lack of self respect for both sexes and lack of respect for each other.

Why not ask others for their opinions or experiences? If I thought so little of ALL the posters here I would not ask.
It cracks me up that some on this site associate bodybuilders/weight lifters with being sufficiently deviant or sex addled that they cannot bear a reasonable opinion about anything beyond training.
Texas Ag you are in Texas its simple. You tell your daughters you have guns and the will to do what is necessary to protect them. 
Honestly sitting down with your wife and child to discuss all aspects is the best approach. Let your daughter ask questions and lead the discussion, this way you are not volunteering information that is above her intellect or emotional status. Good luck this is never easy.

What’s funny is my mother told me that women have teeth down there when I was growing up! So when I finally got myself into position, I expressed my concern to the young lady I was with.
