For example, do endos/urologists tend to prescribe standalone AI’s to lower estrogen and see if symptoms clear up or try any other type of treatments besides just throwing TRT at you? Given no physical problems are occurring and TSH levels are fine…? Also, who prescribed your TRT? What were your levels and how did you feel after a month on them? I’m a 23 year old guy with symptoms but trying everything to avoid TRT.
I’ve seen some start HCG treatments and clomid treatments in hopes of restoring function.
I’m not sure if primary or secondary failure changes anything and I’m not sure if those methods are ever effective or not effective.
I went straight to injections.
Every doc is different and there doesn’t seem to be a “standard of care” between them. Some go TRT right away, some dick around with SERMs, some do nothing. Your doc will be unique to you.
An endo, but beware it can be very difficult to find one up to date on TRT. I have had several and none measure up. Some of the experienced doctors are prescribing TRT to those above the cutoff limits in the guidelines because the doctors recognize the cutoff point to be considered for low-T is too low.
There are studies showing low-T between 300-400 and another showing cardiovascular disease below 440 and those with ED showing a greater CV risk. It’s not surprising that the guidelines for someone on TRT is to raise the levels to the mid-normal ranges.
My Total T was 91 and 120 nd/dL, LH 3.6, FSH 4.6 and SHBG 12.
Your age will make it very challenging to get TRT.
Yeah your right im happy for you that you got prescribed and things are working out. Ive had some seriously dark thoughts ive been trying for years to fix this problem and just seems like nothing will change or no one can help. Ill post labs within a week thanks for replies ![]()
