Thank you.
Your forums will still be there. However, some of them will not be accessible by people who aren’t members.
Here’s a short version of the scoop – a lot of people were coming to the site, specifically, the Sex and the Male Animal forum, who weren’t members. I mean, a lot.
In general, though, a couple of forums, Sex and the Male Animal especially, have proved to be a big pain in the keister to us. People were using it as an unofficial Ashley Madison site – the site for cheating spouses. There isn’t a week that goes by that we don’t get emails from wannabe Romeos or Jezebels pleading that we delete all their posts from the dawn of T-Nation, lest their cheatin’ heart be exposed.
Furthermore, having that forum, and even the Steroid forum, prevents us from being accessible through certain search engines. “Oh heavens, that site discusses female body parts!” “They is talking about steer-oids!” Anyhow, it hurts our potential traffic immensely.
BUT, we’re not getting rid of them. We’re just making them a little less easy to find. However, once it’s completely worked out, you might just need to do an extra mouse click to find them.
TC,
Do you ever get tired of having to discuss the changes the site makes every year? Pretty sure every year that I have been a member there is another one of these “oh no! The sky is falling!” threads.
Come on folks the world changes, maybe not always for the best in your mind, but change MUST go on for any business to survive.
I say keep pumping out top of the line products and I’ll be happy. Your FREE website is yours to control as you deem fit.
No, not really. When people get pissed it shows they’re passionate about the site.
I do, however, often wish they had a little more faith in us, but that’s okay.
(Thanks!)
