Who even looks at that? Did your mom make you a badge with your level on it?
Haha, because what protein you use determines your opinion of a discussion forum, duh.
Please.
I don’t have a problem with specific issues regarding site navigation and such. Those are technical issues that remain factual concerns to anyone attempting to visit this place.
However, if you want to complain about changes in atmosphere or argue that you “deserve” something from the Boss Men, you are really going to have a hard time with that if you haven’t put a penny in their pocket all the years you are here.
Sorry if that stings. If you weren’t a Level 0, I’m sure your otherwise rational, business-oriented mind would agree.
Just cause I might had a level 0 doesn’t mean I don’t buy from a retail outlet in my area. Treating forum users based on what they buy online is a retarded business model. And if you are that short sited then I have to wonder about the products you are selling telling me they are good for me well.

Forum Categories, you mean? No, they are still available via the FORUMS menu above. They’re just not on the main Forums page anymore.
Like I said, we haven’t deleted anything. Just moved things around.
You’ve deleted access to some forums.
We have now, yes. We hadn’t at the time this was posted.
And this is based on what?
Uh oh, I just tried a link to SAMA that I had.
Looks like SAMA is in the dustbin.

What happened to “sex and the male animal.” Can’t find that one. I’ve been following you guys ever since TC was a writer for Muscle Media 2000 back in 1994. He and other writers (like Duchaine) always had a candid style and weren’t afraid to talk about sex and other similar “sensitive” topics while shunning the whole politically-correct, publicly accepted/neutered mentality.
So has that happened to T-Nation? has it become the web equivalent of a tame eunuch? I enjoy having a libido and a sick sense of humor. that’s what made the greatest generation great- they had testosterone and machismo. With all the bisphenol-A and dumbing-down of our natural instincts instincts, we are all well on our way to being complacent, fat, ignorant cry babies.
Did someone’s mommy find out they were talking about sex or looking at pics of a girl’s ass or breasts on this site? Did somebody’s peach-fuzz sack, pubescecnt kid wander into the wrong forum and now they’re suing because little Timmy is scarred for life?
I agree, something happened some place for this radical change in policy. I would love to hear it right from the horses mouth. TC should make a comment on this directly if he makes drastic changes to the site like that. I consider this place like home. This is a sad day really it is.
I agree with this whole heartedly. It appears that things have changed and been cleaned up or modified. If there has been a change in format or audience, it should be addressed.
Couldn’t agree more.
So far, to my eyes, it looks like a lot of the women. However, I’m sure there are men missing and I just haven’t noticed.
Wait!..There are women on this site?!

Thank you.
Your forums will still be there. However, some of them will not be accessible by people who aren’t members.
Here’s a short version of the scoop – a lot of people were coming to the site, specifically, the Sex and the Male Animal forum, who weren’t members. I mean, a lot.
In general, though, a couple of forums, Sex and the Male Animal especially, have proved to be a big pain in the keister to us. People were using it as an unofficial Ashley Madison site – the site for cheating spouses. There isn’t a week that goes by that we don’t get emails from wannabe Romeos or Jezebels pleading that we delete all their posts from the dawn of T-Nation, lest their cheatin’ heart be exposed.
Furthermore, having that forum, and even the Steroid forum, prevents us from being accessible through certain search engines. “Oh heavens, that site discusses female body parts!” “They is talking about steer-oids!” Anyhow, it hurts our potential traffic immensely.
BUT, we’re not getting rid of them. We’re just making them a little less easy to find. However, once it’s completely worked out, you might just need to do an extra mouse click to find them.

Here, let me rephrase so it is a little less insulting to those who feel their opinions might be trivialized:
Buncha loiterers hangin’ around Barnes and Noble complaining about the new isle and chair arrangements making their loitering and literary leechings more uncomfortable and expecting the Mr. Barnes and Mr. Noble to take their concerns into consideration as much as the book-buying customers who comment on the ways in which the new layout impacts their shopping experience.
Cool story, brahs.
I am a customer. I buy from retail outlet in my area. You point is mute sir. The level means nothing.
But it could mean I might think about what brand I buy in the future from said retailer.

TC:
Thanks for the explanation, it’s much appreciated.
Not only do I enjoy the articles, but the sense of community as well.
Thanks for the statement TC.
How bout the ones that have been vanquished? Any chance a return is possible?
Wow!!! So all of this is the result of OPP.
Pussy the cause an solution to all of the worlds problems.
Thanks for the post TC. That clarifies quite a bit.
String up the Jezebels and Romeos ![]()
Jeez I feel like I’ve been posting a sheltered existence.

I never look at it when it comes to forum-specific TOPICS (e.g., nutrition, bodybuilding, etc.).
However, if a bunch of people who have never spent a penny on a site run by a supplement company start complaining about the ways in which the company is changing the forum to better their business model… what the fuck are you expecting?
Biotest is a business. T-Nation is a clever advertising tool. If you aren’t contributing to their revenue stream, why should your opinion necessarily matter?
What makes you think you are “owed” anything?
Not sure what is so complicated about it.
It’s not complicated. It just seems a bit silly to point out. It’s not the first time I’ve heard it and it never gets any less foolish sounding every time I do.
Some people’s opinions are noted because they have something worth saying; not because they have laid out cash.
It’s understood that this is a business venture but 'tards with cash are not necessarily the ones worth listening to.
Well, when someone “considers this place a home” but makes no monetary to keep the gas flowing, electricity zapping, water streaming, roof from leaking, lawn from overgrowing, etc., etc… then gee friggin’ whiz when the people who DO find his concerns to be shrug-worthy.
To refuse to admit that it is a little bit silly is what is REALLY foolish.
You’re still missing the point. It isn’t just the products that draw people to the site. It’s the people; some of whom may or may not be purchasers. However, they draw people that purchase.

TC,
Do you ever get tired of having to discuss the changes the site makes every year? Pretty sure every year that I have been a member there is another one of these “oh no! The sky is falling!” threads.
Come on folks the world changes, maybe not always for the best in your mind, but change MUST go on for any business to survive.
I say keep pumping out top of the line products and I’ll be happy. Your FREE website is yours to control as you deem fit.
TC,
I want to say thank you, to my crazy drunk uncle (you, on occasion) for responding. I have always known you to be a stand up guy, so much thanx for hollerin’ back at us.
Here is the thing though.
Why not just delete/remove those people you mention, and let us regulars post as we do normally ? You know who I am referring to as regulars.
