Level 0’s bitching about the forum going downhill.
Who even looks at that? Did your mom make you a badge with your level on it?
I never look at it when it comes to forum-specific TOPICS (e.g., nutrition, bodybuilding, etc.).
However, if a bunch of people who have never spent a penny on a site run by a supplement company start complaining about the ways in which the company is changing the forum to better their business model… what the fuck are you expecting?
Biotest is a business. T-Nation is a clever advertising tool. If you aren’t contributing to their revenue stream, why should your opinion necessarily matter?
What makes you think you are “owed” anything?
Not sure what is so complicated about it.
It’s not complicated. It just seems a bit silly to point out. It’s not the first time I’ve heard it and it never gets any less foolish sounding every time I do.
Some people’s opinions are noted because they have something worth saying; not because they have laid out cash.
It’s understood that this is a business venture but 'tards with cash are not necessarily the ones worth listening to.
Oh come on…you gotta admit the QUALITY posts on this site made by non-Biotest customers are exceedingly few and far between…
One only had to click through a couple pages in any thread in the cesspool that was PWI and SAMA (which also happened to take up the most bandwidth on the site…I never realized how many pointless responses could be generated in the span of a few hours…how on earth does a thread about shaving your ballsack get more responses on a weightlifting website than a recap from the Arnold?) to see all the non-contributors “contributing” to that section.
I’m not sure what is even remotely silly or foolish about that argument.
Those Level 0’s taking up bandwidth and demanding to be catered to are nothing more than parasites…if removing some of the “popular” forums cleans them out so actual customers can enjoy the website/company more, I am all for it.
Rationally speculating from a business mindset, maybe they like loiterers hanging on their porch in case they decide to come in and stay one day. Some companies would call that a “pipeline”.
That said, I have used Biotest products and I did not buy them online though I did buy them after discovering this site and consequently Biotest. FTR and all. I do my supp shopping tacked on to grocery shopping, brick and mortar, it’s a system that works for me.
Also FTR, I plan to clean up for summer with the v-diet shortly, many of the products have to be purchased online. It will be a first taste of some for me and who knows, I may wind up having a level value too, and maybe not.
Either way, in a community of sorts, members of all stripes will have an opinion on changes, usually not relating to marketing strategy at all but instead to their day to day usage and to that end, your levels don’t mean much. You have a point with bandwidth but hey, if you drive down the street and see a giant inflatable gorilla waving its arms you just may stop at the advertising business to check out the ruckus, get “sucked in” and start buying things.*
- All speculation of course. I have no idea about the overall marketing plan/operations of Biotest or T-Nation. Just rational, business minded speculation from a Level 0, so feel free to discard indiscriminately.
