I’ve been posting in PWI for awhile and I do like it. I like lifting; I like politics. So I guess it makes sense I’m around there. There are a number of posters who challenge my thinking quite a bit. I’ve been fortunate enough to have had some good conversations with a number of people who I disagree with, but who can and have remained civil.
That said, I’ve taken “breaks” from it as well. Some people REALLY like the back-and-forth of name-calling and attacks that go on. I don’t. So sometimes I don’t care to wade through the like. Also, there was a time or two when the trolls (or complete nutjobs) came out in too much force and I felt like I simply didn’t want to be associated with it (e.g. “pro-rape” arguments and some of the conspiracy theories).
I agree with the above posters who have expressed a desire for more perspectives and people to come through. As I’ve said in PWI numerous times, I think that being “nicer” to new people might help. But other posers REALLY like the back-and-forth, so I don’t think that will happen.
So lurkers and GAL folks, please post more!!! lol
