Hardcore to me is that “strain” you get from pushing a weight that for you and you only is a new personal record wether more reps or poundage. That struggle teetering on the line of failure and completion when it feels like every vein in your body is just pulsating, adrenaline just shooting through your body like nitrous in a car.
Hardcore is having a serious lifter tell you after a set “You know what most people would’ve quit a couple reps back”.

hardcore . . . facing a workout that will shred your body and cause you pain - and you grin
. . . pulling (or pushing) that one more rep because your body just said it couldn’t do it and KNOWING you can!
. . . knowing that the iron won’t hold your hand - you have to grip it - but also knowing you will finish with a stronger grip and better strength so you can hold up those who rely on you!
. . . feeling the burn of that last set and ignoring that inner wuss that says that was good enough . . . and going for the next one with the passion and intensity of pulling a child from a raging fire!
hardcore is not about out-lifting the next guy - it’s about out-lifting your own limits!
Intense = getting tea-bagged during a bench.
Hardcore = getting potato-sacked by Chuck Norris.
