What Do You, 'Hate'?

B) what does me posting in the BOI have to do with anything?

C) what does professor x have anything to do with this?

if anything you just look like you’re trying to change the subject.

each of those things were introduced in my previous post, since you were being insulting towards me, i thought i’d let you have a a piece of my mind, and what i think of you, and how i see you. When ever i look at your posts, i think of some nasty highschool prick. There you go buddy, theres an explanation for what might have appeared to be off topic, but it wasn’t. This whole arguement isn’t about time any more, its a mud slinging match. Don’t pretend its not, don’t try to wind me up. That doesnt work. you dont read my posts properly and your condesending as fuck. Grow up, you dick.

i’ll stop comparing time to other man made concepts when you stop thinking that something has to have mass in order to exist. things can exist an abstract sense, such as emotions and ideas.

i have said before and i will say it again, i dont know if its right or wrong to say time exists or not. I said that in the START, when i edited my first comment. From what i learned/remember, for something to exist it must have mass and energy. then i took your point of view into consideration about concepts existing and now im not so sure, simply because im not well read in the area. But your logic doesn’t satisfy me, i don’t look at what you’ve written as the absolute. Thats why i think we should just leave it, because we look like a pair of pricks talking as if we are know it alls.

like i said earlier, the letter W exists, it isn’t a ‘real’ thing according to you as it doesn’t contain energy but guess what, it’s still real.

i guess they didn’t go over this in your applied sciences course, but time is a measurement, which i explained in my very first post. you use time to measure the transitioning of events just like you use inches or centimeters to measure length or you use gallons, quarts, or litres to measure liquid.

do inches ‘really’ exist? they do in the sense of measurement

do they exist in the sense that you can see an “inch” walking down the street? obviously not.

time = speed

speed = time

go back to bed.

if you hypothetically spun around the earth 10x faster than the sun you would be 10 years younger than the rest of the earth. does that not take into account the concept of time?

idk maybe you’re trying to say that because time is realtive it doesn’t exist, but even still in those realtive cases there is still a measure of time.

that was interesting. you know what else is interesting? I dont know if measurements exist either.

Dude quit the pseudo-philosophy and go burn one.

Papa John’s Pizza
Forty-something dudes who drive LOUD trucks as if they themselves were still teens
Cat-owner friends who avoid my dogs because they think they’re vile dirty creatures
The fact that at some point in my life, I’ve lost my taste for beer… completely
That neighbor cutting his grass at 8am on a Saturday morning
Smokers who dump their car’s ashtray on the street at a redlight
The fees some banks charge when you make a withdrawal at an ATM.
That Geiko lizard
Pharmaceutical commercials
Getting someone else’s mail

we may look like a pair of pricks but thats ok, because this is the internet.

i cant believe you really just said you arent sure if measurements exist.

lol

I hate, I mean HATE that I’m not getting laid right now. I just wasted a portion of my day reading about stuff other people hate. I try not to be negative, but this isn’t helping.

This is between you two, but I have to step in and say that you’re annoying. Reading the discussion between you two seems the same as watching an older brother and a younger brother argue. The younger brother, knowing that he can give short, ill-thought replies and annoy the big brother, does so happily. Maybe that was your intent. I’m not sure.

Physicists are still trying to figure out if time really exists or not. That being the case, he was right to say that he doesn’t know, and neither do you. Just because a concept can be created in the human mind, it doesn’t make it real. The THOUGHT of it definitely is real. The chemical and electrical processes that go on in your brain do exist. That doesn’t say anything for the existence of those actual concepts.

He’s not saying that he’s going to live life by this fact, because that would be stupid. I’m sure that he, as well as everyone here understands that humans DO live by this concept of time. Your earlier reply of “just tell your philosophy professor that the D doesn’t exist” was kind of like that little brother again, just pulling random lines out of the air because he knows the older brother will be annoyed, and will try to argue back with reason.

Eielson just make your fucking point already or drop it. Shit or get off the pot man. The suspense is fucking killing me…

You can call it a needless war, but in the end the world is a better place without Saddam Hussein in power.

I really don’t understand the whole attitude of “I support the troops, but not the war.” How can you do one, and not the other? By saying that the war is needless and that we are not achieving anything while over there, you are completely disrespecting every soldier who has fought in Iraq.

You can support the troops by saying that the war should end and that the troops need to come home.

I think that war has become a necessary evil as there will always be people who attempt to gain the most power that they can without regard for human life.

That may be true, but, well, I have no rebuttal.
