Decent money, not enough hours, but plenty of women and excitement.
I really need a second job now that it’s summer, but no luck so far. Thank God my parents had me invest in stocks when I was like 8 so I’ve had plenty of time to make a lot, then lose it all in the past year, and slowly have it grow again ![]()
Living off that at the moment.
Oh I’m in college too, exercise science major.
Just wanted to mention, I’m slightly surprised at how few fitness-related jobs people around here have.
Student, going into third year of biology. I’m lucky enough that my school’s being paid for, but because of med school aspirations I don’t have time for much outside of school (year-round) and volunteering. And no time for actual work, so I can’t afford to buy, or even do, anything. Every couple of months I make 10 bucks an hour by letting psych grad students use me as a guinea pig.
I know I’m privileged, I’m investing in my future, but I can’t help but feel like I’m missing something big, something important, here in college that I’m really going to regret later on.

Engineering/Finance = Good salary
I’m in Finance. Working with so many numbers is not for everyone.
I work with several people who were engineers, then quit that to go into finance. Engineers make much better finance people than accountants.

Federal Agent. Diplomatic Security Service. Google it. Its great except when we have unannounced travel. Supervisor: What are you doing tomorrow?
Me: Taking the wife out for her birthday.
Supervisor: Not anymore, your going to (insert shitty country here) for 30 days. Go home and pack.
Me: Sweet, looks like the wife is getting a better present than last year!
Other than that, which doesn’t happen often (just at the worst possible time) greatest job ever.
Plus we are authorized to work out during work time. So being in the office 11-12 hours a day, if we are in an office, isn’t so bad.
You sound like my cousin. Asleep in bed the phone rings:
Cousin: um, er, hello?
Voice on other end: Mr. So & So, what are you doing?
Cousin: well, um my wife & I were uh sleeping because it’s the middle of the night.
Voice: Pack your bags, you’re going to Jordan, no return flight, don’t tell your wife or she’ll be sequestered.
Cousin: wait, what?
Voice: Good bye Mr. So & so, you’ll be picked up in an hour.

Research analyst/consultant for Health Canada, basically I am the guy they send out from Ottawa to various provinces and make sure everything is working well, I’ve lived in 5 different provinces in the past 3 years…the pay is well and I get a bonus every time the big wigs want me to move but…the whole not really being able to settle anywhere is quickly becoming old.
As for training, I always manage to find the time…I’m usually up by 5:30 or 6 so I use that morning time to hit the gym…while there’s no idiots and its nice and quiet.

My husband feels your pain, he has your exact job right now, with Lowe’s even. He’s been there for less than year, took the job as a temporary thing because he got laid off. The hours SUCK. It’s almost impossible to plan ahead. The people are MORONS for the most part. I don’t know how you’ve done it 6 years, it’s a wonder you’re not insane.
Container Specialist III at the South Carolina State Ports Authority. Do everything from inspecting and checking in cargo containers to loading and unloading trucks and ships. When the economy picks back up so will o.t. and I’ll go back to 12hr days during the week and lots of weekends. Figure around 900 hrs o.t. a year or more.
