What Are You Reading?

:rofl::rofl: My husband loves those kinds of movies too. I am not a fan. They get in my head and make it hard to sleep.

I’ve been ordering books from thriftbooks.com. They send me a bookmark with every order. I love them for that.

Good for you! I hope you are making some progress in “Eyes of Prey”.

I’m still reading “Riptide”…..still, I know. I”m not moving as fast as I’m still being a child and moping because I finished all the books in my recent series. But, i shall keep moving along, page by page. I still have several of the books from my mom’s birthday gift box to get through.

A Killing Cold- Kate Alice Marshall
Was an Extremely slow burn.

I’m halfway through my Murakami and struggling. I like it, essentially, and I care about the characters, but there’s something about it that’s starting to wear on me. It’s very monochrome. The tone is always steady and accepting, despite plot highs and lows.

It’s a good before-bed book, though. Two pages and I’m out cold. Not bored, exactly. Just…lulled.

Oh that’s sounds Murakami. Steady, slow, almost monotonic. I’m halfway through 1Q84 (which is a long book) and while I like the book and everything it offers, I don’t get sucked in. So I’ve been reading here and there instead of bingeing.

Exactly! Not sure whether I’m going to finish or not. We’ll see! I’m doing quicker moving audio books now to supplement, which may be enough. I just feel like I’m going to be reading Wind Up Bird for the rest of my life, 2-5 pages at a time. Do I want that? I’m just not sure.

I have about 8 books with bookmarks in the middle because of this. I just put them down one day and never pick them back up.

Definitely worth a listen if you like a little complex time travel. I love Ray Porter’s voice so that may have been a factor.
It ends with a cliffhanger. I hope there is another one.
