I’m adding that one to my tbr!

It’s a completely different book compared to the Children of… -Trilogy, but I did found it worth a read.

Hey!

Can’t remember if I’ve asked.

Has anyone read Hyperion here? The first book is in my Top 5 Scifi’s ever.

Have not read a ton of Simmons otherwise, two first books of Hyperion, Iliad books and the Song of Kali. If someone has recommendations from Dan Simmons or something similar, I’ll definitely read it.

It might have kinda related to my life situation, but the first book of Hyperion really moved something in me. Second book is excellent too.

I haven’t read the Endymion books, since I’ve heard they are quite mediocre, and I don’t want them to taint the first two.

This sounds epic, I’m adding it too!

The Knife Man by Wendy Moore is a pretty cool read. It’s the story of John Hunter, the father of modern surgery.

Do you have to read children of time first?

I quess you could understand the 2nd book without the 1st, but I would recommend reading about the spiders first.

It’s also my favorite of the three books.

Children of Time is actually the better book, so I would!

Two ringing endorsements. I will check it out. My library app only has the second book (that’s why I asked) so I might have to actually get the physical book for the first.

I liked this one too!

While I do love a good rom-com (not the smutty stuff, more the Emily Henry vibe), you really can’t go wrong with a good psychological or domestic thriller!!

Ooohhh I love her. Big fan of Beach Read and Funny Story.

Am I doing the paperwork I got out of bed at 4:30 to do, after maybe 3 hours of sleep? No. Am I shopping for books and also collagen while I’m at it? Yes.

(I have done 3/12 documentations, though. And I’m going to do some more after I decide which Emily Henry book to download.)

They are all pretty good. Beach Read is my favorite. I like Funny Story a lot too. They might actually tie for first. Those are my recommendations.

I think I got Beach Read. I’ve got stuff to finish, but I’m looking forward to it as I enter what I like to inappropriately call suicide season at work. Hopefully it’ll lighten things for me before bed.

Beach Read is a good one! Let us know what you think. Another rom-com author I like is Abby Jimenez. So, if you need some additional “escape reality” material, check her out too!

All Abby Jimenez audiobooks are several months wait on Libby. I have noticed this is getting more the norm than the exception. Everything is several months wait now.

I know! My holds list is ALWAYS maxed out. Apparently no one reads real books anymore… lol

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfus is a pretty great book.

I’m not a science fiction guy, but am enjoying some of Terry Pratchett’s stuff.
