Once a Spy- Keith Thompson Recommend
Enjoyed so much I read
Twice a Spy.
Onto… Only the Dead- Jack Carr released Tuesday. Been waiting for this one.
The Art of Vulture Investing: Adventures in Distressed Securities Management.
I play around in some personal individual investment accounts and would like to learn how to really swim in the deep end.
Not reading but purged a bunch of books off my shelves today
A laundry basket, to large “Thirty one” brand tote and a paper team box worth…
It was painful but I guess nowadays I can get them all electronically if I want.
Can’t remember if I posted this or not but last month I was just looking for a gap book.
Legends and Lattes
It’s about an Orc who quits adventuring and starts the first coffee shop in the realm.
Totally left field pick, but super enjoyable. A light, funny, enjoyable read. Author makes some clever parallels between fantasy tropes and coffee shop stereotypes
Finished:
What Lies In The Woods by Kate Alice Marshall
Hello Stranger by Kathryn Center
You Shouldn’t Have Come Here by Jeneva Rose
Currently Reading:
The House Party by Rita Cameron
Finished Only the Dead= meh. He is kinda getting out of his wheelhouse.
Cold Silence by James Abel
Threw Weeks to Say Goodbye by CJ Box. This was recommended by one if my peeps. Good story, deserved a much better narrator.
Now onto… Protocol Zero by James Abel and have already downloaded White Plague next.
How Not To Drown In A Glass Of Water by Angie Cruz.I wanted to love it, but it felt a little bit too “worthy”.
The kind of book that it’s nicer to have read than to read, if that makes sense.
I had this one on my TBR. Thanks for the review. I’m gonna pass on it now!
Reading OG 'Adventures of Sherlock Holmes"
For a book written in 1887 it’s pretty wild.
Each ‘adventure’ is only about 30-40 pages so it’s easy to pick up and put down
The Listened to Lately List:
Eat, Drink and Drop Dead by T.C. LoTempio @ChickenLittle Since you liked Mastering the Art of French Murder, I think you’d like this one too.
The Senator’s Wife by Liv Constantine
Speak of the Devil by Rose Wilding
The Woman Inside by M.T. Edvardsson
Before You Knew My Name by Jacqueline Bublitz
Just started:
I Didn’t Do It by Jaime Lynn Hendricks
Thanks! my Libby doesn’t have it yet, but I tagged it.
Finished White Plague and Protocol Zero.
Going Rogue- Janet Evanovich
Iron Lake- William Kent Kuger. A little dated (cr1998) but an excellent story!
Been waiting for True Believer by Jack Carr for months finally started it today. A little late since I have finished the rest of the series… lol
How was Going Rouge? It’s on my list. Is it worth the read?
It’s Stephanie Plum so… same ole same. I read a lot of reviews about no character development etc… I personally don’t expect much. I have read all of except Fortune and Glory.
Grandma Mazur is just fun! ![]()
Finished
Music for Chameleons by Truman Capote
Saudi America by Bethany Mclean
Gave up on:
Cain by Jose Saramango
Truman Capote’s writing on the south reminds of me of Erskine Caldwell (Tobacco Road). Does anyone have anyone other books, short stories, writers who write about the darker side of the south?
Joe R. Lansdale - try “Edge Of Dark Water”
This looks interesting, too bad my Libby doesn’t have it.
William Faulkner? Haven’t read much but from what I remember that might be somewhat what you’re looking for.
Sometimes these kind are the best. Not a lot of thinking involved, just a fun way to disconnect for while!
Do you have a Kindle? You can “borrow” books on there for free, like a virtual library.
My local library also lends books to Kindle, you could probably open a membership with them, just don’t tell them you don’t live in Walton on Thames ![]()
