I do not read much however, happened to read some of the web novels and manga’s
“How we Live is How we Die” by Pema Chödrön
Finished The Winter King and Enemy of God by Bernard Cornwell. My Libby doesn’t have the last book, Excalibur
. Will have to get it from Audible next week. (Not a good week for listening, too much talkie, talkie… lol)
Listened to Terminal Freeze by Lincoln Child absolute rubbish, just the way I like it.
Just started… The Mullah’s Storm by Thomas W Young
I enjoyed this one
I applied to Wharton to work with Adam Grant!
Not going to get in, but he does some cool stuff
My life in psychological thrillers lately:
On a Quiet Street by Serapina Nova Glass
The Villa by Rachel Hawkins
One Last Secret by Adele Park
The Perfect Neighbors by Sarah Pekkanen
Goodnight Nobody by Jennifer Weiner
The Lifeguards by Amanda Eyre Ward
And currently reading…
The Wife Stalker by Liv Constantine
The Gulag Archipelago by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
I literally just got it tonight, will post again if I like it. Comes highly recommended from some people I respect.
Got about half way through one called Ghost Ship. Just couldn’t gut it out.
Finally got The Maid @QuadQueen and @punnyguy
What an ending!
Just started Blowback by Brad Thor.
It was good, right? Super quick and fun read.
Yes! I enjoyed it.
Speaking of good endings,
Finally finished Ink Black Heart, all 1012 pages. Rowling is really good with the character development, she puts all those pages to good use imo. When I returned it, the librarian(s) commented to each other about the heftiness of the book LOL.
Between the poetry excerpts at the beginning of most chapters, plus the sometimes 3 simultaneous internet conversations going on, I can really understand how the audio book reviews were no bueno. @ChickenLittle
I will be looking forward to the next installment.
She said that will be the last Cormorand Strike book. ![]()
I’m surprised.
Definitely not an end of a series type ending -lots of daily life situations still going on, but maybe that’s her way of definitively distinguishing it from her Harry Potter series perhaps.
add: from Wiki - Rowling stated after the third book that she has plans for at least another ten.[1] The sixth novel, titled The Ink Black Heart , was released on 30 August 2022 by Mulholland Books.[2] On 12 January 2023, Rowling announced the title of the seventh book as The Running Grave .[3][4]
Excellent! I am now only 24th in line… lol
I need to catch up. I only read the first two Strike novels and part of the third. Enjoyed them both.
I have enjoyed the series.
I have been listening to all the Jack Reacher books my library has on CD.
Read all the Reacher books, love them
