What Are You Reading?

I haven’t shared here what I’ve read recently, but here are some titles:

Crying in the Bathroom by Erika Sánchez
I’d Like to Say Sorry, But There’s No One to Say Sorry To by Mikołaj Grynberg
Translating Myself and Others by Jhumpa Lahiri

I’m starting Auf der Straße heißen wir anders by Laura Cwiertina and The Idiot by Elif Batuman.

I’m still on track to top the number of books I read last year. A little unrelated, but I also really need to restore my writing habits. Really fell off that wagon over the past few months.

I feel this SO hard!! I need to get back into the writing groove too!

What do you write? Fiction, non-fiction, blogs?

I think I need to start time blocking it

I have a blog where I write non-fiction pieces: my personal experiences and views on various things. I also integrate my photography sometimes. What about you?

Same!! It’s the only way anything gets done around here! lol

Blogging is such a great outlet! I love nothing more than giving people my thoughts and opinions on things and for me, blogging was/is the perfect avenue for that. I’d love to check your blog out if you start writing again and feel comfortable sharing!

I used to be a pretty prominent blogger in the Paleo nutrition community. I have my own website now - but it is DESPERATE need of a resurrection. I haven’t posted anything since prior to 2020. I’m probably a little rusty…

Things I read (listened to) last week:

Iona Iverson’s Rules For Commuting by Clare Pooley
The Woman In The Library by Sulari Gentill
Breathless by Amy McCulloch

Current listen:
Stay Awake by Megan Goldin

“A Land Remembered”

about settlers in florida in the mid to late 1800s, great story

Taking my first literature class for school.

So far read some Kate Chopin, Hamlin Garland, and Mark Twain. I’m really only taking the class to expose myself to some writers I probably wouldn’t have checked out on my own, so hoping I come across some good stuff.

It’s how I do pretty much all of my work – thanks, Cal Newport – but not my favorite thing to do for hobbies. But gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.

Yep! I can be whiny and not worry about bugging someone, ramble about an incredibly niche topic, or just write a few words and share photos. There’s something very satisfying about owning your own little retreat on The Internet.

I don’t think self-promotion is allowed on here, but I could maybe email you the link at some point!

So, you’re one of the cool dieticians then. Not that I suspected you weren’t, of course.

I have experience building websites from static site generators. They’re fast and easy to update. That’s how I’ve made my blog and my work group’s previous website. I’d be happy to help if needed!

Just started reading The Outsider by Stephen King

Just finished Scars and Stripes by Tim Kennedy. Dude has had a wild life.

Other posters have blogs that they’ve shared. One very prominent member in particular.

(Just so you know.)

I could be wrong, but it seems like more people know of said blog and discuss specific posts without directly sharing the link. In any case, my blog is not lifting-related, so I don’t think my sharing it briefy would be Cool.

Wouldn’t this make it more acceptable?

This would be great!!

I don’t know about “cool” - but I’m definitely not the cookie cutter stereotype RD! lol

This would be more awesome than anything I could ever dream of! Thank you so much for the offer and if you ever need or want any non-mainstream nutrition services - I am here and ready to be at your service!!

That’s what I thought. Like, we can’t post articles from that other weightlifting website, but we can post any news articles we want. I thought it was cool as long as it wasn’t “supporting competition.”

Down a Dark Road by Linda Castillo I have read most books in this series and have enjoyed them. A Simple Murder was a collection of short stories. Just couldn’t slug that one out to the end.

Kill Shot by Vince Flynn
Raidiant Angel and The Charm School- Nelson DeMille. The charm school was 25 hours. I slogged my to the end bur, I wouldn’t do it again… lol

After that I needed something “funner”.

Now I am 3 books into a cozy series.
Buy a Whisker- Sofie Ryan
A Whisker of Trouble
The Fast and Furriest

The Ink Black Heart by Robert Galbraith/JK Rowling (30hrs) was released last Tuesday. It will be the final book in the Cormorand Strike series. After reading the scathing reviews I don’t know if I want to waste a credit on it. Has anybody here read it yet?
