I have searched the internet and can not find an answer I’m about to get bloodwork done - on trt. I’m wondering what sort of ranges are the perfect/optimum range. I am testing the following and would appreciate any advice.
Total T, Free T (Equilibrium Dialysis) estrogen , Prolactin
The main reason I’m testing may I add is I’m suffering with slight Ed. I’m on 200mg per week split into two shots so I’m thinking it’s down to estrogen but I will soon find out as my results should come back the same day.
No it’s not I fully understand that, I’m going to take my bloods to see where I’m at and get my dose down. I’m just wondering what levels are good levels? I’m just paying for a test from a clinic so I’m unsure if they can give me any advise.
As said previously, normal ranges are included with results.
Though the normal range for T is 300 to 1,000 ng/dl, I think most men likely feel good at 500-plus, although some think there’s something magical about 800 to 1000 (there isn’t).
Agreed. I would also add how you “feel” is not necessarily related to the best levels for health nor the best levels for building muscle. This relates to TRT and AAS blasting and cruising.
Exactly. There are no particular feelings with normal values. But it seems like some expect to be ready for sex at any given moment and have abnormal muscular gain on real TRT.
Don’t believe there is one. Not for hormones anyway.
There’s “good” or “heathy” ranges for CMP, CBC, lipids, BP, heart health, for sure. Really that should be your focus. The optimal hormone levels will be unique to you
Most men feel their best at the top end or slightly above the normal ranges. I did a poll at ExcelMale and 68% of men on TRT felt best at the higher end and above the normal ranges.
Studies show the same for heart health and for the prevention of prostate cancer, top 25 percentile decreases your risk of a lot of diseases and risk of being admitted to a hospital and risk of dying.
I guess it’s possible that these very high testosterone levels, which testosterone increases dopamine, could in theory, decrease prolactin, because dopamine restraines the production of prolactin.
Dopamine and estrogen both help regulate prolactin.
Yes but I’ve now changed to a new doctor who has taken my bloods and advised me to inject 125mg once a week. I just want some opinions on this. Agreed 200mg is crazy high and my T is also very high lol
I was sceptical to inject once a week - will this be ok?
Once a week really suits me better! The doctor has advised 125mg I will follow and check bloods in 6 weeks. I feel like my test is very high even for 200mg I’m thinking I may be sensitive
125 mg split up 1-2 times per week is fine. Trough levels will be higher on 62.5 mg twice weekly and the difference between peak and trough will not be as big as weekly injections.
Once weekly, levels in the first half of the week will not be the same as in the latter half. Some will not feel noticeably different, while others will.
