Solid work as always Joe. What are your thoughts on a Feb meet?

Right now I don’t think I’m in the right place to do the Feb. meet but I’m not counting it out yet.
Or did you mean your doing a meet in Feb?
No, I was talking about you doing a meet. You had mentioned that you might.

I did not expect adding the 25lb to the chins to cut my reps in half but it did.
Nice work Joe.
That’s some hefty weight on the DB presses.
Any thoughts yet on the speed work? Do you feel it’s carrying over in to strength gains?

That doesn’t surprise me at all. I swear just eating too much can cut down my reps.

I’ve also gained about 5-8lbs so I should take that into account as well.

I like the speed work and I think its is actually causing some hypertrophy. As to strength I don’t know, the thing about Westside is that you don’t really squat or bench freeform until you compete so while my numbers are going up on box squats and pressing variations I won’t truly know until I max again.

Strong work in here Joe. It looks like the program is working for you. Are you enjoying it? Some of the stuff looks pretty fun, especially things like chains and crazy bells. My gym just got all new shit and they have a rack built especially for bands, so I may break down and order some.

I am enjoying the new stuff though it does require a fair bit of relearning for some of the lifts. Reverse band box squats are way different than just squatting.

I get sore every time I check your log. Looking thick in the new avi dude.
I’ve tweaked my low back and I’m tired of it being so stiff first thing in the morning. So I’m going to alter things a bit for a few weeks and let it get right before I’m Back on Westside.
If you can figure out how to bullet proof the low back let me know. Low back issues suck.
Heal up quick.
Joe, is this the old back injury hanging around or something new?

Its the old one, I have a six lumber vertebrae and that disc is way more compressed than my others for obvious reasons. Most of the time its no big deal but every so often it flares up and I think box squats are rougher on it than others.
Hey Joe, how’s the back doing ?
The back is a harsh mistress. Heal up quickly!
