Your getting me very intrigued about westside, I may have to give it a whirl
Deficit pulls looked strong!
Seems like you are gaining converts, heretic.

I’m stirring a fresh batch of Koolaid as I type this.
Did some high rep arm and shoulder stuff last night.
- band tricep pushdowns 3 x 20
- bb (bar + bands) 3 x 20
- band lateral raises 3 x 20
All sets close to or at failure, reps with a 2 second peak contraction. The band lateral raises worked extremely well. I think I like them better than DBs. DOMSy today.

Fortunately I’m to lazy to do something like Westside.

My laziness is balanced by my mid-life crisis thoughts of running out of time to get my numbers to a respectable level.

Oh fer Gawd sakes…

Aren’t you younger than I am?
If so you have nothing to worry about because I’m still awesome.

I don’t know…46 in November.
You are awesome my friend. Obvious awesome is obvious.
And I too am awesome. But I do have space to add a little extra awesomeness.
Looky that. We’ll be the same age for part of a month.
I do understand that “running out of time” feeling. When it starts to bother me, I comfort myself by buying a new bit of tight clothing. If not now, then when! ![]()

I’m sure the tight clothing is a win for everybody!
I comfort myself by knowing I will live to be a vibrant 110 years old. Plenty of time left. With a decent diet, regular exercise and a medicine cabinet full of Cialis I’ll be in good shape when the second half of my life starts in 10 years or so.
Oh God, to be 46 again. Sigh. Your whole life is ahead of you.

Cav, focus on the positive brother. You have a ton of years in front of you. Probably 40 years!
Looking back accomplishes nothing other than learning lessons on what to do better and then move forward. And you are doing that. Just look at the progress you have made with your training. You have probably made more progress in the past 2 years than the previous 20. That’s learning and growing. It’s never too late.
ME lower day
GMs
bar x 5
95 x 5
135 x 3
185 x 3
225 x 3
245 x 3…took a vid. thought they were high so dropped it a pin hole.
245 x 3
265 x 3
275 x 3…vid. PR! Cheap one. These are new to me. If I mix up all the Westside variations I can have a PR on a new exercise every session. Sweet!
Actually, pretty happy with these but I could use a form critique from Pete or German or anyone else.
Never thought I would do a GM on purpose, lol.
Step ups with DBs to 14.5" box.
50s x 8
65s x 8 (these started to suck near the end)
Hanging leg raise
10, 10
not bad, maybe a little less knee flexion, you are wanting to squat the weight, I can tell
I thought the variety of movements does lead to PR’s almost every session…
nice work-
and particularly nice work here too!!
and yes Joe is awesome.

that is kind of the point with Westside. similar with DoggCrapp from the bb side of things. rotate movements in and out to get stronger w/o roadblocks.
Great work. Agree on the good mornings. Push your ass back and try to touch the wall with it.
Westside is certainly interesting to watch. I think on of the strengths of it is that it can be done indefinitely due to all of the variation in it. It seems like the heavier the weights get and the closer you get to your potential the more you need the variation.

Yup. I could feel myself squatting. I’ll try the same weight and go stricter next rotation. Thanks Pete.
