Bummer. I hope tomorrow is a whole lot better.
For the sake of your wife…
yea she probably got all excited buying the pink/black number for you…
haha sorry shouldnt remind you.

Get better!
Kimba, I do feel a little better today. I might just take a bunch of pills and see if I can train this weekend. Might be a good idea, might not.

Maschy…yes, my wife would appreciate me being a little more cheerful.

UpScale…you can’t remind me of something that I think about every day (sigh). I’ve been tempted to go online and see what it is like (I know the store she bought it from) but I don’t want to spoil the surprise. Frankly, the surprise, or any surprise really, can not come soon enough.
Yeah, that was subtle.

I find myself checking Stick’s thread, hoping for more cute kitten pics.

Then I scoot over to this thread, hoping for something more upscale…

You are, in fact, the punnyguy.

aw man! Sorry to hear about being sick Git. Wifey buying a new outfit is a big win!!

I put on a little number for valentine’s myself but just sat there upset in it, looked at my husband and said, “I just feel like Big Bird”.

We laughed and he replied that I could take it off if it made me uncomfortable. So we had supper (at home of course) me in my birthday suit and him all dressed in his work clothes. surreal and funny.

I just wanted to point out that said little number was something I’ve had for a long time. Not something he bought for me. I would have made an effort to be pleasing in it had he actually went out to get it.

Anywho, enough chit chat. Hope you had your fun

Hi Mainy. Just so I can understand the visual…was the little number yellow and ruffly? I’m sure you made it look good

Black with a lining of feathers at the chest where I need a little “help”. Husband said it looked pretty but I didn’t feel right in it. Bought it 12 years ago and though it was the sexiest little thing ever. Goes to show people change and such. Haven’t bought that kind of thing since I got married in 2004. I’m thinking its time I find something new.

I might need an honest objective opinion.

Hmmm…it seems to me that you would be better suited in something simpler, without too much detail to distract, but with a sexy look that hints at the awesomeness to come. Black is always a pleaser but your spicy frenchiness demands some colour.

Consulting services are free and impartial

edit: oh, and I think you should also have an outfit that helps you bring out your inner pole-dancer / stripper. Always a crowd-pleaser.

I woke up this morning with fatigue, aches, a little short of breath and just feeling like crap in general. But I checked my temperature and it was normal. Maybe I’m just being a big pussy?

So, I put on my favorite panties that don’t irritate my vagina when I train so I could go to the shed to do some squats. But I’m sluggish as hell so I went to the store and got a Monster energy drink and then I raided the cupboard and mixed up a concoction with BCAAs, creatine, powdered gatorade and some whey.

Due to work and illness, I haven’t done any squats since Feb. 5th. Not good.

Squats (3s day)
95 x 3
140 x 3
230 x 3
280 x 3…starting to suck wind here. I can’t do any reps today
330 x 3…puffing like a steam engine. switch to singles
350 x 1
360 x 1…not an easy rep and looks a bit high (I touched the safety bars so they must need to be moved down a notch)
365 x 0…out of gas

Definitely no PRs today, but at least I got in.

Good job fighting through that rep. That buckle you did is so familiar to me. I do it all the time. Squats are tough when fit and really tough if you’re congested.

On a side note, I don’t trust hitting safety bars as a measure of depth because if you think about it, you could keep your legs completely straight and just GM it down to touch the bars. I know that’s an exaggeration but as the weight goes up people generally have more forward lean and “less” depth. I think touch ‘n’ go on a box of the right height is the only fool proof way to hit depth every time.

Great job on getting it done and a speedy recovery.

I generally don’t use pins to judge depth. Touch and go off the pins usually results in one side hitting first which throws me off balance . I’ll need to lower them to keep them out of my way next time.

Edit: Meant to say that I’ve never done a box squat. I should give those a go.

I know Ive watch Kimba do the famous ass to box squats, whats the rule of thumb (or ass) as faras distance from said box? should you feel like your back side is stretching to box?

What I did was squat until the top of my leg was parallel then get someone to measure between my bum and the ground and then made a box of that height. For me it was 12" but it would vary depending on your height and limb length etc. Then I would just squat until I touched it, none of this Westside keep your shins vertical and push your hips back and sit on the box stuff, just touch lightly and squat back up. And if you don’t touch the box you can’t count the rep. It’s great for keeping your squats “honest” especially if you train alone and don’t have anyone to call your depth.

x2

that assessment of my lingerie personality was spot on. Now for some shopping.

Upscale - Holy crap girl, should I be stalking other people’s logs to find more of you?

Git - you get bonus points for pushing through a harsh day. I would have been cowering in my pj’s watching funnies. You are the stronger man.

haha no, the video was just a butt buster. The pic was all punyguys fault. The lack of training in here I thought it was a good time to hijack till I get brave enough to log.Not sure I want to make that commitment. Not to mention the ladies in over 35 and PW kick some serious ass.

hai Git… hope your feeling better

Thanks Mainy. I think the classy lingerie is more for a moderate intensity, high reps kinda evening and the hooker outfit generally means high intensity, fewer reps. You need both

UpScale, you are right. There is a definite lack of training in here. Kind of like when the football game sucks you can always look at the cheerleaders. Ummm…you don’t own a shortie sweater and a short, pleated skirt do you?

I actually still feel pretty crappy but I’m trying to ignore it.

git, that was good training. My respect for getting out there in the cold shed for that session. If you are well enough to ignore the sickness, I predict you’ll actually be better soon.

Upscale! Feel free to hijack git’s thread anytime. Loved the picture.
