Those are some solid box squats. And forget Westside advice. The strength experts all seem to be disputing anything and everything Westside. Besides, it doesn’t look to me like you’r emissing too much.

Well, I had two ‘adjustments’ by the little chiro lady and that seems to have alleviated 90% of the problem, which is a relief. I’m going to see how it feels after some deads and take it from there. I’m relieved it wasn’t more serious.

Hey C_K! I’ve been digging out my old CDs now that I can listen without disturbing anybody else. I like it.
I’m not aware of any disputes regarding Westside. All I know is that it produces some strong bastards. But, in my humble opinion, any reasonable training approach works if you do it with enough intensity and consistency. The approach matters…but not that much.

It’s definitely cathartic. My wife would think I’m nuts if she heard what comes out of me in the training shed sometimes. I keep it reined in at work…but it’s often bubbling just below the surface.

I’m still pretty tentative with the box squats (obviously). I was watching some Westside vids and they were, like you, focusing on the explosiveness. I did read somewhere that doing them from more of a deadstop has good carryover to deads. I suppose I’ll mix them up.
