I’ve been noticing lately that finally my dad’s getting old…he looks fantastic for 52, full colored hair, not hugely obese nor skin and bones and hes in pretty good shape being a senior cameraman for BCTV/GLobal here in Canada. However I do want to him to start on the weights to keep him looking good, i’m getting him some bottles of tribex and maybe a little androsol, however what i need to know, is i know he won’t join a gym just cuz hes old fashioned and doenst like the idea of change, so i figure in a few months i’ll have the family pitch in and we’ll buy a home gym and force him it on him, he’ll feel more comfotbale starting out at home i think. SO, what should i buy? i know u all think those universal type gyms such as the bowflex and such are gay…and ritefully so to a real bodybuilder but…i think he’d be intimidated by a real dungeon of iron, so maybe a universal type thing would be enough for him just to tone up?
Just tone up, he’s fifty two for gods sake, he can easily lift big iron at that age. My dad started weights when he was in his late sixties. peole who just want to tone up our whooses.
Don’t waste your time or money on any of those universal machines that take up space and collect dust. Stick with the basics. Get him a barbell set with 300lbs of weight, a bench and some squat racks or a power rack. That’s about all he’ll need to hit every part of his body. And it will cost less than any one of those funky, useless machines!
