Weight Room Closed. Home Training Advice?

Aren’t PFit memberships like 1$ a month or something? It’s not ideal, but it’s more than some dumb bells and a band.

As to answer your question, just Google body weight work outs, dumb bell exercises, different kinds of push ups, sit ups, chin ups etc. And do what you want, make a routine of it.

Planet fitness is free for 15-18 in the summer. At least where I am

If the gym closed…do what some peoole are doing.workout at home.get u some resistance bands…they give excellent results.even look into getting a bike to keep everything going…that would be a good start

For the 8 12 8 thingy. I did goblet squats with 100 lbs for 8 today. Ik I’m gonna get more reps next time. Can I just keep aiming for more reps every session. My dumbbells only go up to 100 lbs.

Yep. Good call.

At a certain point you’ll want to find another way to progress or you’ll end up doing 400 rep sets a la @T3hPwnisher, but you’re a long, long way from that yet.

You got any tips on how to get heavy dumbbells off the floor to floor press. I did 75lbs for 7. I needed 8 do i’ll do 70 next time then push for reps. I couldn’t get the stinking things off the floor I needed my big strong brother to help. My stupid long arms.

Not off the top of my head, no. Sorry.

You can clean weights to OHP though, add in some push up variations for horizontal pressing if you need.

Yeah no tips here - if you can’t just hold onto them and lay back, I have no clue. Never really done the movement with DB’s. Dagill’s got the solution though.

For what it’s worth, if you really wanted to, you could buy a bench. That’s probably one of the cheapest, least space taking pieces of equipment out there.

Pick them up standing.
Quarter squat.
Put them on your knees
Then sit right down
Roll back and lightly kick your knees up and let the weight go up.

Practice with much lower weight. This scales really badly. You go from easy to shit I nearly died very fast.

Alternatively, do a rest pause set with weight you can manage.

70lbs x8, short rest (20s)
70lbs x AMRAP, short rest,
70lbs x AMRAP, short rest
Optional: 70lbs X AMRAP
Done.

If you did one arm at a time, you could use both arms to get a single db into position which night be more manageable.

Couple of Stacks of house bricks per side should do the trick. They’ll have to be in a slightly different position to where you press, so you can take the dumbells off and then move your elbows back slightly into position. You’ll still have to dump them when your set is done and then just set them up again.

I don’t even need a job. I have the money. But my siblings are working. So they’re taking all the damn cars. Some don’t have the decals on it. I need someone in the car with me. It’ll be a crappy schedule. Even I’m questioning if it’s worth it. I might end up working too.

I’m pretty sure that this statement will be the death of any helpful or considerate comments in this thread.

May God have mercy on your soul.

You said in an another thread that you have a passion for lifting.

This is not what one of those looks like.

If you have money and a passion but no car, buy a barbell on craigslist, per the earlier suggested COA.

Jesus wept.

75 years ago thousands of kids your age travelled across the ocean, invaded another continent and died protecting the lives of people they’d never met. Please, tell me again how fucking difficult it is to find something heavy to pick up?

Soo what’s the problem again? Just buy some equipment

You don’t have any money. Your parents have money. If there aren’t enough cars, get a job and get a car.

You have a lot of threads on here asking stuff that most people figure out on their own. Time to man up a little, dude.
