weak grip, small forearms

see bro now your on the right track. what i like to do to ensure equal and symmetrical development on each side of the body is alternate every other day hand and grip selection. for example i always start with my left because i am right side dominant. monday left hand supinated grip, tuesday right hand supinated grip. wednesday off. thursday left hand pronated grip friday right hand pronated grip. saturday and sunday off. i have made great strides using this protocol. also be sure to get at least 1 gram per lb. of protein each day and i will assure you, you will build POPEYE like forearms in no time!

I’ve been kinda “lurking” this thread, but now I must post. I think the 5x5 training for forearms would be good. When I performed the 5x5 forearm training, I made excellent gains in my forearm strength. Also, while I do use straps for my deads - it’s due to the wee, wee hands that I have, which can barely cover an entire bar. I’ve dealt with this situation this way: I perform my 225 and 245 lbs deads w/out straps, and my 275 plus deads with straps. I’m sure, in time, I will be performing 265/275 deads w/out straps.

This way, I will continually improve grip/forearm strength. Some other exercises that have helped: heavy bag training and knuckle push ups.

Overall, this has been an excellent discussion, folks.
