Didn’t he do the Dukes of Hazard theme song? I’m not a country fan but that’s a badass song. Didn’t he also do the narration during the show?

yes…It came out back in late September. My wife bought it for me back then and wouldn’t give it to me until Christmas… There is a Nashville Rebel DVD that is out as well.

Yeah he was awesome. Shooter on the other hand is not. I know it can’t be easy to be a country muisc legend’s son but his music average at very best. Way too pop country for me.

Shooter is definitely not pop country.
His music is not his father’s. I have a couple of Shooter’s albums, and they are good.
Comparing Shooter and Waylon is like trying to compare Hank and Hank Jr. You really can’t do it.

RJ… no one is comparing the two so what are you talking about?.. Look and listen to Jr. in his early years and tell me you cant compare him to Sr. Jr’s music now is nothing like Sr’s I agree. As for Shooter being pop country well I guess you and I will have to agree to disagree yet again. He may not be as pop as some of the artists but he is still pop to me. Have you seen him in concert? You seen his band? Last I knew a country bass players didnt wear bell bottom jeans and hippie shirts.

My bad - I misread. I thought you were comparing Shooter to his dad.
Shooter looks like hell. SO does his band.
BUT -
I think they were wearing the “bell bottoms and hippie shirts” well before it became cool, or pop.
They certainly aren’t dressing to impress anyone - I can promise you that.

I dunno… Seems a little poppy to me that the guy lived in LA, Had a rock band called Starlight that failed, then Waylon died and all of a sudden he and his band are now country: and using his country connections to get tour dates with people like Toby Keith. Then to top it off he rips off Hank III by putting out his first album called “put the O back in Country” which is ironically themed much like III’s Dick in Dixie track. I actually found myself trying to like him because I’m a big Waylon fan but I just can’t do it.

Will do man. they are actually friends of ours and we have seen them quite a few times. They usually open up for DAC when he is in town. They have a harmonica player now too that adds a lot to the music and he is damn good . Him and the lead singer and the bass player are from a band called Dixie Hustler which has some bad ass stuff out too.

Turned to be an awesome show. They played tons of their originals mixed in with some Amos Moses by Jerry Reed, Waylon’s Honky Tonk heroes, Buck Owen’s act Naturally, Cash’s Bad News and a few others. Hell of a show… !!!

Its addictive isn’t it? actually refreshing to see someone putting out good country music these days. I forgot to mention they played some Billy Joe Shaver too… Badass…
Edit: I realise Shaver wrote and performed Honky Tonk Heroes too… wanted to clear that up before someone caught that.
