Chad,
I just started your TTT program and am female. Is there any modification I should do set/rep wise to maximize gains?
Thank you,
e

Unfortunately, my current lifestyle involves sporadic training schedules. During some weeks I train 2x, other weeks involve 6-8 sessions.
My current post-workout nutrition consists of 1 serving Surge with 5g micronized creatine. The biggest change I’ve made is within my workout. I now consume a full serving of Surge at the beginning of my training session since research has shown that a pre-workout drink will cause 2x (or more) deliverly of AA to muscle tissue. That’s a good thing![/quote]
With regard to my exercise parameters - that would require a complete article in itself. But generally, I perform a hybrid of my Set/Rep Bible, Lift Fast Get Big, and Total Body Training parameters during each workout.

… thus joining Dan John as a semi-finalist in the ambiguous answer category.
Either that, or he is applying a few instinctual training ideas that were without a doubt shamelessly ripped off from xcelticx.
BFG
What is your take on auxometronics (sp?) for an athlete. How to progress to them, how often to use them…
Thanks!

Hey Disc Hoss!
I sent you a PM regarding post workout nutrition; just curious if you got it…
Cheers!

Nope, perform it as is and you’ll do well.

Yeah, you caught me! That’s why I posted a follow-up to my original answer. But there’s another reason for the ambiguity. I’m working on an article based on some pretty exciting observations I’ve made over the last year, or so. Stay tuned!
Chad, thank you for the tremendous information you provide everyone. I was searching the Inernet for more of your articles and came across the High Defintion Circuit and Backwards Training (10x3) that I believe you wrote in Men’s Fitness. I thought these were gret routines and I wanted to know how come you haven’t included these in your T-Mag archives yet? Anything more about your thoughts on those routines?
Thanks for your responses.

Yeah. Of course I would have busted you if it weren’t for that damned T-Nation time warp that allowed you to read my post and THEN go back and insert your follow-up.

As always, looking forward to another Chad Waterbury installation. BTW, how many of you ARE there? ![]()

Backwards Training is a simplistic version of Waterbury Method (ie, WM is more effective). The Circuit Training routine is a more simplistic version of my Outlaw Strength and Conditioning (ie OSC is more effective). Do you get my drift? My T-Nation articles are more powerful, while the other articles are geared to weekend warriors.
Sir Chad!
quick questions, i keep missin these thursdays!
2.on the front squat day, i seem to be failing before i finish the parameters. am i going too heavy?
pls correct me if i am wrong or misunderstood your article. before moving on to ABBHII, repeat the ABBH with switched set/rep parameters?
thank you for your time!
Thanks Chad. I can definitely see that with OSC and the High Definition but the Backwards routine seems simpler physically and mentally, and also has one more day a week which could be a nice change-up. Besides-weekend warrior usually don’t do Deadlifts or Squats.
AS always, thank you Chad.
You know, that’s the second PM that hasn’t gotten through. Perhaps I need to clean out my “inbox”. Will do so promptly. Check on my name like you’ll PM me and then hit my post history. I’ve recently put down my take on Pre and post nutrition for the AD, but I’ve jumped in so many places that I’m not exactly sure on which thread you find it. Let me know if this helps.
Best,
DH

Palms up (supinated) grip
Yes, lighten the load
Yes, flip the ABBH parameters.
Much appreciated!
Thank you!
Thanks DH,
The PM’s/email feature seems to be a little buggy tonite, so if Chad doesn’t mind I’ll just post the message here.
Hey Hoss,
Like yourself, I am a big believer in Dr. Dispuale and carb cycling. In light of the new information Dave Barr has presented, I was wondering what your pre-post workout plan is looking like now, and if you wouldn’t mind helping me with mine? (I am following a cyclical carb apporach)
Heres what I am looking at doing:
1 hr pre-workout: whey isolate + glutamine
immediately pwo: liquid FF aminos (how much FFAA do you/ Mauro advocate?)
30 min later: whey isolate shake with glutamine and frozen fruit
What are your thoughts?
Sorry, C’Dub.
B515,
Check out the “My experience… Anabolic Diet” thread. I posted it there.

Hello Chad.
In this mesocycle I train with ABBH 1 and for the next meso I want switch exercises and set/rep.
But:
Suggestion?
Do I change program?
