I drink a ton of water throughout the day and it can get pretty mundane. What’s everyone’s go-to for flavoring their water? I’m open to all the ideas!
I usually use either the kool aid orange/grape flavors or the crystal light blackberry lemonade. You could also use EAA’s that have good flavor. Just gotta experiment and find what you like. I just go with something that has zero sugar and little to no cals.
I have a machine that heats it up and runs it through ground coffee beans.
Its a little complicated but really freakin good.
(Yep. Im the guy who did that/went there.)
I’m trying to get away from the caffeine. For the last year plus, I’ve been filling my 64oz water jug up 3 times per day with this BCAA drink. The problem is it takes 5 servings per 64oz jug.
That looks pretty good. The green tea & green coffee beans extract will give it a little kick, and some of the aminos will help too.
So, is it the quantity of product that you would like to change, or just looking for something different in general?
I’ve always been a fan of the caffeine/theanine/B6 combo.
You don’t have to fill it using the servings. Just fill so you have a light flavoring. That’s the intent, correct?
I just feel I’m getting too much caffeine with that many servings. I love the taste and product!
Yes. I just like a heavy taste, but I should probably take the dosage down quite a bit.
Yeah, thats 1500 mg./day if you’re doing 5 servings 3 times.
Plus, I don’t know the exact content of coffee & green tea extract, but have a sneaking suspicion its caffeine too.
I’m going to try and cut down so it just starts to taste good and still do 3 times per day
Yeah. You still want to maintain hydration (especially this summer), but not so much caff.
I like the theanine/b6 kicker. It smoothes out the caffeine and provides a different kind of lift. That helped a ton when I was super busy, had to do tons of math & measurements, fabrication, and meet shipping deadlines.
I go with Sei Mee Tea’s sencha powder. It’s similar to matcha but without the massive caffeine hit. It’s more convenient than waiting for tea to steep. And it’s great cold.
Ok, so I got the food scale out. It turns out that I have only been doing 2 servings (18g) according to the food scale. So, it’s not 5 servings per 64oz jug like I thought. So, instead of the 1500mg of caffeine per day I thought I was getting, it’s actually 600mg. Thoughts on the amount of 600mg of caffeine per day? Good? Bad? Ok?
Depending on what coffee you prefer that’s somewhere in the 2.5–5 cups per day range. In the long run you’ll be better off dropping the caffeine entirely. Caffeine is like cocaine—you will build up a tolerance to it and eventually you’ll just need it to function.
I was well over a gram of caffeine a day at one point. I’m now down to 2 VERY watered down green teas. I like life this way vs that way.
From what I’ve read 400mg to 600mg is roughly the “safe” amount to consume per day. It sounds like you may be drinking this throughout the day though and for some people that will impact their sleep (it would for me).
I do drink it all day, but stop 3-4pm. Doesn’t affect my sleep or I would definitely stop.
