Was on TRT Then Off, Now Told I'm Normal. Labs Inside

I was on TRT for about 8 years.

I went off because my wife wanted to get pregnant.

So just went back to the doctor to go back on and was told I don’t need it and that I’m in a normal range.

It’s not that I want to stick a needle in my butt twice a week for no reason, but I wanted to post here and get some opinions since it seems many docs just don’t know about this stuff.

Here are my labs:

F ESTRADIOL 25.2 <=60.7 (PG/ML)

  • Note: Values in the range of 17-25 PG/ML may demonstrate
  • increased imprecision. Clinical correlation is
  • recommended.

|F|TESTOSTERONE|443|300-890 (NG/DL)|
|F|SEX HORM BIND GLOBULIN|41.7|16.5-55.9 (NMOL/L)|
|F|CALC FREE TESTOSTERONE|78.9|47.0-244.0 (PG/ML)|

“normal” LOL… Do you feel normal? Because you have the test of a 70 year old man, plus your SHBG is eating up what little test you DO have.

We prefer the sub Q injection method here also.

But this goes off of how you feel. Do you “feel” normal? Or OK? doubt it.

Also, what is your protocol like? Did you do HCT or Nolva when you came off?

Do to the stigmata surrounding TRT most doctors will not give you TRT even though you are presenting symptoms. These labs ranges do not consider age related testosterone levels and is a mistake.

Your levels are normal for president Trump who is 72 year old. There are a few red flags to suggest you’re working with an incompetent doctor, those who are informed has done away with injecting into the glutes with those insane 18 gauge syringes.

Those more informed use 27-29 gauge insulin syringes in the shoulders and out quads. The majority of insurance base doctors are TRT ignorant, and most don’t normally specialize in TRT. Endocrinologists and urologists specialize in a certain area of medicine.

TRT isn’t one of those areas so it’s like a chicken with its head cut off. You don’t even have the proper tests to determine a testosterone deficiency and you doctor doesn’t even know what tests to order. Your SHBG is binding up most of your testosterone which is why your calculated bioavailable testosterone is so lower.

You need to seek help outside on your insurance network, you need a hormone specialists which doesn’t exist within insurance networks.

Personally I would get a few more test blood tests to confirm. 443 is lowish, but not horribly low.

Unless you have symptoms, I’d stay off trt and be pumped you can.

When I went off I just stopped injecting and had a hard crash. It was before I found this place and found more info.

This wasn’t at the direction of my doctor mind you, I just went off on my own which was stupid.

Took about a month before I felt somewhat “normal.”

I’ve been off now for over a year, but ever since I’ve been kind of floating between depression and feeling good.

Wound up gaining weight too after I went off which was annoying. But I don’t know that it was the test or the fact that I was just lethargic and didn’t go to the gym as often.

Sex drive is fine, that was never really an issue though. I initially went on because I was having depression, got tested and was told I was low. I don’t have my original labs unfortunately because it was years ago and a different doc.

You should have just kept quiet and refilled the script on DL.
