WannaBe’s Last Year Of “DYEL?”

I wish I could man. Right now it’s impossible but one day I hope too.

Already this is something you can change. You don’t have to wish it at all: it’s within your power. Nor is it impossible.

Think about that for a second: you’re ALREADY exercising power of yourself here. You’re just using it to fight yourself. If you have the ability to decide it’s impossible, you ALSO have the ability to decide the other.

I don’t think it’s impossible, I’m just pissed I’ve wasted so much time only to go backwards. I’ve always subscribed to the “pick up heavy shit and eat” and you’ll grow. Turns out there’s more too it then that lol.

I do think I’ll get there, I’m just upset with where I’m currently at, and how hard I’ve worked to get to THIS point is all.

That’s outstanding. There’s an avenue now.

And no time or effort is ever wasted. Perhaps you’re not seeing it in terms of muscle gained or fat lost, but there’s certainly GPP built, work capacity, improvement in terms of movement proficiency, general volume accumulated, etc.

I’ve had “wasted” years of training that turned out to simply be years of me storing up for something big, where all I needed to do was take that one last step to unlock all that potential built up.

100% dude. You’ve been getting after it. That effort won’t go to waste. Nothing replaces hard work.

Looks like things are going to start getting interesting in here. I can feel an energy and determination that is going to lead to some big change. Getting the popcorn ready and here for the ride mate.

Oh I’m determined as fuck to grow. Which makes following this coaches diet and workout so hard lol in my mind I need to be obliterated after workouts and be eating everything in sight. Obviously faulty logic as that’s what I’ve been doing for negative results… but it’s so hard to change mentality on beliefs you’ve held strongly since the beginning, even if I have proof they are wrong lol. It’s quite the mental gymnastics :joy::joy:

Best thing I ever did was let someone else program for me. I just focus on doing me job and watching the results. Embrace it 100% and good luck.

That’s the plan. He’s asked me a couple times what I thought and if I wanted to change anything, just told him he’ll no. I’m paying you because I couldn’t do it :joy: don’t listen to anything I say.

If he doesn’t tell me to eat it I won’t, and if he doesn’t tell me to lift it I won’t. Just gonna trust the process and try and minimize the anxiety :joy:

It might take a workout or two to get on the same page with coach. You mentioned having a little trouble matching rep ranges with weights, a couple sets being too easy and the workout not being super hard.

Next time it will be easier to jump to the right weights for the reps your doing. And from there you’ll figure out how to get to failure with those weights/reps. Like you’ll figure out how to squeeze and get tension on the muscles to “make it enough” to be effective without having to go endless dumb sets.

Yea I figure by the second or so workout (for each one) I’ll have the weights figured out. Although it may not seem like it I am looking forward to it. Still on the first week of the diet (started yesterday) and I’m always hungry lol I hope we bump that up soon

I remember John Meadows saying people told him he had bad genetics. He just kept working and believing he would make it. Not to many people saying that now.

If you start at a 10 then you have nowhere to go but down. Sustainable growth comes slowly. Look at the 5/3/1 principles.

Meal prep gets easier once you settle in. You should reach a point where you start seeing results and that starts to fuel the desire and keep you going. But you have to earn that. It doesn’t happen in week one, or two, or three…

In October of 2018, I weighed 250 lbs. If you would’ve told me I would weigh 207 in May then I would’ve said you’re crazy. I started my cut and it built momentum. As I got to 225, I wanted 215. It just kept going. Success is addictive but you have to fight the initial phase.

Its because you even lift.

Oooo I am super interested in how you like the DHB. I have heard polarizing results for it.

Jesus Christ what are you???

I have wrist and shoulder injuries. Flat bars hurt, and now it’s a flat bar that I have to rotate my wrist to lock/unlock lol. So double trouble!

I’m interested to see how it turns out. I did a couple test pins of dhb at 1ml and it was fine, turns out 1.8ml is a little different lol. I can already tell I’m gonna have to get creative pinning it.
