WannaBe’s Last Year Of “DYEL?”

That’s insane haha! Spending so much on the app when they could probably learn the basics from like Flex Magazine for $7. And build some kind of base before spending so much on an app that you would think would be primarily targeted at more advanced lifters that just need some professional help to tweak their program and see renewed progress.

I am just at the point where I am not giving it 100%. At least for me, 100% means good progress, a bit of cheating makes the progress much slower. I’d still like to be down another 5 lbs before bulking again.

Same, but it has been a bit better lately. I used to deal with a weird eating / sleep disorder where almost every night I’d lay in bed for an hour and a half to two hours not fall asleep. I’d be super hungry after about an hour in bed. I’d get up eat, then go back to bed and then I’d be able to sleep. I probably averaged a 600 kcal meal close to every night doing this.

I think I was just going to bed to early. I used to always go when my wife went at 10 pm. Problem was I wasn’t ever tired at that time. I now stay up about an hour after her, and I haven’t gotten up to eat since. It can still take me a half to a full hour to fall asleep though. I am really hoping that correcting my disorder helps with the cut progress (it’s only been a few weeks).

Good to know. HGH is something I’ve thought about. Few reasons I haven’t done it. Expense, pinning daily, and I do worry about things like my facial features getting bigger (although I think this is far more common with high doses). I’d also worry that it would become something I was always on if I like the look on it (leaner look). I do have low IGF-1 levels on all my blood work. IDK, maybe it is worth a trial?

It would make things interesting, that is for sure. It can be a struggle for me having such routine. I like routine in general, but life can seem boring, and like life is passing me by. It just amazes me that I am how old I am haha.

My wife is on board with training and goes with me (although we do different things). I tried training with her, and we aren’t a good fit as training partners. That is okay, she goes and does her stuff, and I do mine. We still chat a few times while working out.

We eat pretty healthy, but she doesn’t meal prep for me (nor would I expect her to).

I’ve cleaned up quite a bit, and I think that shows in the physique. I have been getting a lot more protein. I realized that I was just way to low. I am not super high on it compared to others, but I am averaging ~160 g/day now. I think I was averaging only like 110 g/day, and I think that hindered progress. I just thought the whole gram per day thing was overkill for a long time. I am not at that level yet, but I am hoping that the extra ~50 g/day makes a difference.

I’ve also really dialed back drinking. It used to be that I’d have a few every night starting with dinner. I’d usually have 2-3 drinks (and they were strong ones). I’ve completely cut that out. I basically only have anything when it’s Friday or Saturday now. It’s mostly a few light beers for social things. I think I am probably drinking a third what I did a year ago, and I think that has helped physique and other areas of life.

How are your quads doing?

Ain’t that the truth! And going from 80% dedicated to 100% does not equal a 20% increase in suck, it’s like 400% more suckier :joy:

Congrats on figuring out some of the sleeping issues and alcohol control! Those are huge!!

Thanks man!!

Sooooooooo they’ve shrunk a little. I’m just now starting to train them again. So far I’ve done 1.5 legs days (.5 because had to go to work half way through yesterday lol). I originally quit working legs in hopes that the rest of my body would make use of the extra recovery/nutrients/what ever, but I now know it doesn’t work like that, at least for me.
Give me a few months and they’ll be joozy again. Hell, they still look pretty good compared to someone my overall size IMO.

We’ve never interacted a ton, @wanna_be, but we might’ve started posting around the same time. Can’t quite remember. I can definitely see a very obvious change in your tone, on both life and lifting. I’m happy things sound like they’re going great, congrats on everything, and if you don’t stick around this time, check back in every now and then.
