Deadlift (3x3): 320, 365, 415 (10) <–New PR!
Captains Chair Abs (4x8): All body
Nailed a new PR in DL tonight…pulled it conventional again tonight instead of sumo…warmups didn’t go so hot but the first couple works sets felt good so I decided to push the AMRAP set…the bar was flying up off the floor and I was locking it out quickly…last rep was a bit slow but wasn’t a total grinder…grip started to slip towards the end (strangely in my right hand instead of my injured left…weird)…
Sat down for about 15 minutes after DL’ing from the wicked pump in my back…it was insane…
Was going to do some good morning but the gym I was at didn’t have a cambered bar so I skipped them…
finished off with some captains chair abs, which helped to flush the blood from my back and I felt good after it…at least good enough to walk to the car…
now time to go eat a pound of red meat, sweet potatoes, green beans, and rutabaga fries…then drinkin time…
I’ll be training next week at Brute Strength Gym in Norfolk…pretty fucking excited as that gym is the TITS…

haha I’m not sure they will be too impressed at Brute considering they have a chick there that can squat what I do (raw)…pretty good training going on there…
I use the cambered bar because my flexibility sucks and I can’t do them with a regular bar…I can’t hold the bar in position with a close grip because my shoulder/flexibility issues, and when I try to use a wider grip, the bar rolls up and down my neck…cambered bar alleviates this and for some reason, my Gold’s happens to have one…
As for more weight…ehhh…sure, we’ll call it that! ![]()
im still trying to make sure my form is good before moving up, as I already have a fucked up lower back and I dont want to rush them and make it better…right now, my girlfriend actually uses more weight than me and she weighs substantially less haha…so its a bit embarassing to work out with her in that regard…one day I may break 135!

Pullups: 9x5 (45 total)
Didn’t push the AMRAP set tonight…just went in and got some work done…the OHP was fairly easy…DB Bench was light, just a way to get some reps in…did 5 pullups in between each set of both exercises for 45 total…
Cut workout a bit short to get ready to go play bar trivia tonight…sweet

I’m down in Norfolk this week for work so I get to train at Brute Strength Gym all week. Pretty excited about that.
Got there late tonight because I took a nap after work and didn’t have time for much, and it was completely empty so not very motivating…still better music than the ghey shit they play at Gold’s though…
Only went for 4 on squat and it was very heavy…I just wasnt really into it tonight physically or mentally, despite the awesome gym…hoping rest of the week will be a little better…probably still a bit beat up from deadlifting on Saturday
My Gold’s gym plays “Whip My Hair” ![]()

This was the same weight scheme from my 531 week last cycle, and I got 8 reps then too…I almost pushed up the 9th one tonight but didn’t have it…
Felt like my grip was a bit too wide…going to try to take a narrower grip on the bar during my heavy singles next cycle and see if I get any carry over…
This also has “hair whipping” aka METAL AWESOMENESS. Please accept this as forgiveness for the previous video.

Good job Nate! I haven’t seen you bench in so long, that I can’t really give much feedback on the form/setup. You should video it - but just know that you will be starting a trend in your gym if you do that. Once guys realize they can video their benches, it’s all over!

hahahaha…yeah maybe, just maybe, they will put them up on youtube and someone will tell them that their form sucks and 185 is not a heavy bench, especially when you are doing an invisible 5 board press…and why the fuck would someone ever bench press with their feet in the air? That is a sure sign of a low IQ…

Man somebody else has told me that too…T-Nation needs to stop jacking up my shit…I’ll submit a troubleticket, cause I know keeping up with my log is priority numero uno for the great majority of us here…

I think I am gonna pass on the Border Battle…I am doing the Shamrock Meet at Brute Strength in Norfolk on 12 March…I may still ride down there to the Border Battle with you though and spectate, but it depends on what my travel schedule looks like that week…I may be in the UK…

ABzzzzzzzzzz Cable Pulldown (4x8): Some weight
Deadlift was a huge PR tonight…the warmups felt great, but the first couple working sets felt rough and heavy…wasn’t expecting a lot from the money set and had settled going into it to shoot for 6 reps…got those in easily and kept going to the 9th…had at least 1-2 left in the tank…weight just felt incredibly light…My deadlift has been shooting up in the past couple months, and that makes me very happy…
DL style tonight was conventional, which I think I will end up using for my next meet…we’ll see how the heavy singles go in the upcoming prep cycle…
