I’m perturbed by the fact that they waste ammo using automatic spray.

But I will note walkers are slower and don’t dodge for cover.

And I’ve determined why the Sherriff uses a revolver — he limp-wrists his Colt Python. Doing that with a semi-auto will result in a jam because the slide won’t operate corretly.
Well, they are supposed to be poorly trained. Used to walkers, but not used to people shooting back. I can forgive that.

I am sure they are using mostly CG for the firing anyways as opposed to blanks or squibs.

Robert A
Yeah I’m not saying that hitting walkers is the unrealistic part, but there is a solid 180 seconds where not a single bullet lands. The governer made no attempted for any kind of cover.
I think that was unintentionally realistic.

People who are not professional soldiers tend to miss a hell of a lot in gunfights. Up to now the group has been mostly dealing with walkers.

The Governor is looking to be going nuts as well.

That said, I am still positive that no one involved in production is a “gun guy”, nor do they care to be. I am fine with it. At least this season people appear to be actively trying to improve their arms.

In season 1 and 2 no Evil Black Rifles were present, save for those that were left on the ground around the CDC or in Atlanta proper. Even if they were going for “rural” I would have expected a bunch of cheap SKS’s and some lever guns.

I am fine with assuming the 16 inch AR’s are supposed to be actual M4’s with the “happy switch” (and oddly enough shouldn’t most of those be 3 round burst instead of full?) I get how those could be “available”. Where the hell did the Governor find an honest to god full auto AUG? And why the hell would you give it to the one guy who has to shoot off his left shoulder now? That actually bugged me.

Regards,

Robert A

You’re right about the gunfight being realistic. It’s just funny though because everyone in the group is able to land a head shot on a zombie at will in every other episode.

Props to Merle at the end btw.

My favorite dreadlocks, katana waving angry face home girl being taken hostage by the Gov.
Herchel going out like a Custer at the hands of the Govs Army as he and his Infinity Shotgun blast off about 2 dozen to balance the fight for season 4.

And Rick and the crew watches as the Gov rolls away laughing

Its sad that guy was working so hard to get some pussy then he gets instagibed with a head shot then no one can land a shot until random guy in the tower bites it.

The Gov shot him with the Steyr. Helluva shot considering the range, the fact that he was standing and shooting with his off-hand, and that the optics on an AUG are only like 1.5x.

Totally agree, after Michonne killed his walker-daughter he kind of has a free card to go a little crazy IMO.

She unknowingly took away his last shred of morality.

If he wasn’t using the optics then the shot is even more impressive. But I thought I saw him looking through the scope right after weirdo prison guy dropped to the deck. Perhaps my brain manufactured that part.

I thought “off hand” was the common term for shooting with your non-dominant hand? I guess I’ve revealed my ignorance, but to answer your question I’ll shoot anything that makes loud noises and puts holes in things. I hunt a little but prefer archery. I guess I’m a Bionic Redneck wannabe, though I despise crossbows.

My father actually owns an AUG, but it is only semi-auto. I’ve been shooting that bad boy since I was 10. I prefer the HK-93 though. It’s just more comfortable to me.

Glen 2.0 for the win!

I have a feeling the Governor is going to stretched for two seasons. They need more time to bring out his Hidden super crazy. I also have some Hope they
Use the group that took out the Comic Glen for a whole season. It just seems that story was underdeveloped in the books.

Show is losing some of its appeal to be honest. First season was awesome because it was so new - there hasn’t really been a full feature zombie TV series before. Now its kind of like you’ve tasted the coolest and tastiest new ice cream and each fresh serving is less satisfying than the last; basically decreasing marginal utility.

Lost lasted something like 7 seasons, Walking Dead won’t last that long because there’s no new mystery or phenomena to be explained, just new good guys and villains.
