Yeah with last night’s episode I went from “this guy seems pretty cool” to “well, that’s fucked up but I can understand why you’d do it” to “holy shit this dude is nuts and the girls are in serious trouble.”
I guess I question why would you want to take out heavily trained people that can help protect your place, unless you think they would be a threat. But, why would they be a threat.

They are Trained. They may also still have morals. I’m not sure what direction they will take the TV version of the GOV. But the comic version was more like a Hitler-Jim Jones mix than anything else.

I think it is easy to see that many trained men with allegiance to their commander vs your “governor” as a threat. What I think is sadistic is that they went out of their way to kill them. It’s one thing to not allow them access to your town and if things get dicey to shot them but actively seeking out survivors to pillage is entirely separate.
And like Jackie said, man/woman ratio should be kept in check if you want to run a community.

I’m sure that is a part of it too. The military would automatically assume power and if you refuse to be called anything but Governor, I don’t doubt there is a huge ego and a fear of being removed from his throne.
