What can I say Zeb? I hear you, but I don’t think I’m going to change my style.

Frankly, the fact that some people jump on my back is in my opinion partially due to your persistent labeling attempts.

I noticed this explicitly about the time you tried to suggest I was anti-US or anti-American. You also decided I was ant-Bush and then misused a quote that actually had me supporting Bush to try to support that conclusion.

I was under the impression that this was actually why you keep trying to pin labels on me. That it was to sway the average new reader into dismissing or prejudging my comments due to your ongoing mischaracterizations.

When people see your comments and then start viewing my posts through your suggested lens, it turns out that they and I end up in heated conversations.

Now, I’m also pretty sure some folks would be happy to go toe to toe with me without having the benefit of your suggested lens.

So, for the record, I have a tit-for-tat style. Some of the entertainment value in these parts is the argumentative and insulting nature of the posts… as long as it doesn’t cross certain lines.

Personally, I am okay with being called just about any random insult – it means nothing.

Anyway, to close, your advice is noted, but I’m not aspiring to some higher level here. Unless it is in error, I will however attempt to keep the political heat from making its way into the real forums.

Well that’s fair.

By the way, I don’t think it takes any sort of “conspiracy” for people to realize that you are not a Bush fan.

Also, you might be giving me a little more credit than I deserve. I don’t think that anyone is judging you more harshly since I have been calling you a liberal.

I think I can see why you have all of this pent up hatred for me. Every time you are attacked, for whatever reason you are thinking “that freaking Zeb labeled me and now people are jumping on me.” True?

Maybe you need to give other posters more credit. I think they just flat out might be disagreeing with you because they think you are wrong.

I also think it would be great if we could gain even more political types from both ends of the spectrum. This is probably only going to be achieved
(if at all) by good solid debate.

Let’s face it there are only so many of us that like to talk politics around here and I would really like to increase the numbers, but no one wants to debate if they are going to be personally attacked.

Just my own observation.

No, there is no hatred. You mention hatred a lot, from liberals, generally. The world isn’t driven by hatred, hopefully. I certainly can’t get worked up enough about this place to generate anything resembling hatred.

And no, I don’t assume people are attacking me because of you. Now, in a thread where you start to go silly with mischaracterizations, and then a new poster jumps in and starts viewing me in that mischaracterized way, that raises my suspicion.

However, something as simple as having someone believe I am liberal would not bother me in the slightest. That certainly is not the issue I have raised.

Can we go back to the discussion at hand? This is pointless.

I take the weekend off, and an excellent thread about an accused dog fucker turns into bitch-fest.

Here’s what I don’t get - How does someone wake up in the morning, look out the window of their house, see their neighbour’s dog and think “Geez, that dog is cute. I could go some of that”.

I don’t see how that could be learned behaviour, unless they have really changed school ciriculum lately. So in my book, this kid is probably hardwired wrong.

Zeb - Although I said “just cause you are born a certain way doesn’t make it right”, it also doesn’t make it your fault if you are born a certain way. However, we all have a choice when it comes to our future actions.

Yes, whether we are born a certain way or not, we have choice!

Regarding the the kid who nailed the dog. I wonder if he took the dog out for a little purina chow before he did the deed? LOL Can you see them both having a cigarette after? YUCK> LOL
