It does not really have to do with the content but, that huffing and puffing during Ryans closing statement is really disrespectful. His attitude tonight just reminds me of those asshole old guys everyone hates to be around.

His smirking was also irritating, in any competition, the greats always show respect to their opponent.
I would say that Biden won, but not by much and definitely not enough. The bitching about time at the end was the only real major mistake that he made. Biden was ready for all the major topics and did a good job of keeping Ryan unsettled. Overall, I agree with CB. It helped Obama a bit with damage control, but it will not likely reverse Romney’s momentum.
I actually only missed the first 20 minutes. Boy was I wrong about this one. Ryan looked nervous halting and unconfident very much of the time. Biden was his usual lying lowlife self very much of the time too though. Ryan finished ok. I dunno. I give the edge to Biden.

Only hope is Biden’s huffing and puffing, smiling and generally acting like a jackass turns off independents that were leaning Romney.
I’m saying Ryan won. Respectful, while making a great case using the Administrations promises vs. reality. Though, it’s going to depend on how people feel about Biden’s demeanor. I think he went way too far on the strong and confident thing. Overshot confidence, and landed on disdain and disrespect.

If Ryan had been more confident and in less faltering with his responses, I would say that would have definitely happened, but as it stands I think it was a wash on that. Biden’s doucheiness was cancelled out by Ryan’s lack of composure and poor body language.

Eh… I think your right.
Good news is this isn’t bringing any more democrats to the polls. Joe isn’t the rockstar.
I like how he tried to steal the jack kennedy line.
As I said prior to the debate expectations were as low as they could be for Joe Biden and he rose well above them.
What Biden did correctly was to stay on the offense. Paul Ryan was just a bit too meek to handle the more experienced charging Vice President at least during the first half. Ryan missed his best opportunity to make the administration look bad by allowing Biden to dictate to him Obama’s reaction to the Libya crisis. This was an opening that Ryan let slip through his hands. Biden landed the harder blows with Ryan holding his own on both domestic and foreign affairs.
The winner on paper was Joe Biden, but this is TV and I think all of the smirking and darn near close to belly laughing that Biden was doing absolutely brought down his favorable ratings (watch for a Biden look alike on SNL to fall off his chair laughing inappropriately). Also, Biden’s incessant interrupting during the first half was irritating to anyone who wanted to hear Paul Ryan finish a thought.
If you were to dissect this debate you would see that Biden began strong (even with the smirks, laughing and interruptions) but finished rather weak. In fact, it almost sounded like he was losing his voice during the second half, it was as if someone let the air out of him. I would give Biden a win on paper but take away from his performance on what I call “TV points” because of all the shenanigans, laughing, smirking and interrupting when Ryan was speaking.
But I would give Ryan at least a tie if not a win during the second half as he seemed more relaxed. And he scored points with his strong in depth knowledge of Syria and the Middle East. As for each man’s concluding remarks Biden gets a “C” which is better than Obama’s “D” during his debate. But Paul Ryan hit it out of the park as he touched on most of the major issues as to why Obama does not deserve a second term. It was so good my son asked if Ryan was reading it from a teleprompter.
I can only repeat what I’d said before the debate began, this will mean nothing by Monday morning. I don’t think it went well enough for Biden for the MSLM to make a case that Biden settled the score, he didn’t. And With two Presidential debates yet to go it will be the performances of Obama and Romney that will weigh much more heavily on which man becomes the next President of the United States.

Agree.
Also, him chocking up a little talking about seeing the heartbeat on the monitor of his daughter… That touched hearts even for pro-choice people.
Something was said by Biden tonight that is going to start coming under examination tomorrow. He threw the intelligence community under the bus. The administration is going to have to show that intelligence was leaning towards the protest conclusion, for what, 6 days?
